The Gargoyles are a group of minor antagonists in Casper's Scare School's film and TV series. They are Scare School workers, whose duties are to do the school's cleaning, assess students during field trips, and supervise and accompany the principals, Alder and Dash, in addition to protecting their office and other administration rooms. In the film, they collaborate with Alder and Dash's plan to take over the world and rid themselves of humanity.

Their only known voice actor is Jason Harris Katz, who voiced one of them in the film.

Biography[]

The Gargoyles are responsible for several different types of jobs at Scare School, which include surveillance and school janitorship, which is also a job constantly taken over by one of the students. In the film they are seen introducing and introducing Kibosh after the students arrive and assessing their scares during the Deedstown tour given by Alder and Dash. They also help and collaborate with the principals during their plan to betray Kibosh and attack the human world. In the film, the gargoyles are shown to be an extensive group, but later in the TV series, the number of gargoyles was reduced to just three, putting most of the other gargoyles seen in the film out of the picture.

The team's most prominent role was in "Substitute Gargoyle", where they find different ways to take time off work for fun, tricking the principals and students.

Appearance[]

Overall[]

All members of the team are small gargoyles made entirely of stone, with each having different facial and body shapes and with a pair of horns on top of their heads and small wings that give them the ability to fly.

TV series[]

While in the movie a large number of gargoyles are shown, in the TV series there are only three of them; the first, who appears to be in the lead and works primarily as a bodyguard for Alder and Dash, has straight horns on top of his head and a warty face, and is also slightly taller than the other gargoyles and is noticeably thinner.

The second, called "Fat Gargoyle" by Dash and responsible for most of the cleaning, has a pair of horns that go more to the sides than on top of his head and appears to be overweight, and also has three teeth. protruding at the bottom of the mouth and large nostrils.

The third and final gargoyle, who has the most responsibility for the evaluation and grades for the students, has curved horns and a long nose, with a striped color and darker than the body, as well as his arms, he also doesn't have the protrusion in his mouth and belly like the other two gargoyles, as well as the lack of ears.

Powers and Abilities[]

Primary Abilities[]

  • Flight: The only real ability present in the Gargoyles; thanks to their wings, they have the ability to fly, which is useful for them to more easily locate and assess students during scare classes in Deedstown.
  • Stone resistance: They have been shown to have stronger resistance than other Underworld creatures, thanks to their bodies made of stone, which prevents them from being hurt or stunned by strong impacts or accidents, although some smaller parts of their body can still be broken.

Gargoylite[]

The Gargoyles have the ability to make a magical potion called Gargoylite, which serves to turn anyone into a Gargoyle statue. It serves as a measure sent by Alder and Dash and executed by the Gargoyles in more serious situations, such as the presence of a human at Scare School. The portion has the appearance of a purple liquid made in a huge cauldron.

Personality[]

Gargoyles are quite competent in their various jobs, even if they don't like it, especially their part of cleaning the school, which is what they hate doing the most. They were shown to have a fair assessment of students during Deedstown excursions, giving good grades to students who give good scares, and disapproving of those who fail. When teachers and principals give students special materials and objects to use during scares, gargoyles require them to use them during their scares in order to get a good grade, proving their competence on the job. They occasionally do different jobs than usual at times, such as briefly introducing Kibosh after the students arrive at school and playing the piano during the school anthem.

They aren't quite as executioners as Alder and Dash or other teachers, but they are still quite rebellious, as seen in "Substitute Gargoyle", where one of them lies about being sick after an accident with his horn, and thus earning a break from work, leading the other two to similarly lie, claiming they can't work without him and giving Casper the job of assessing the students' scares. When Casper hands over the assessments to them, they once again lie, saying that all the grades are very low, despite all the grades having a good result by Casper; they then force all students to clean the school as punishment while having fun outside of work. Despite everything, the three are punished at the end of the episode when their lies are finally discovered, with the students plotting a revenge plan.
