The Grand Master is the main antagonist in Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars, and the overarching antagonist in Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon.
He is the leader of the Neo-Templars, a cult based on the Knights Templars that sought to take over the world using the power of Baphomet.
He was voiced by Peter Marinker, who also voiced King Allant in Demon's Souls, Julius Caesar's English dub in Asterix and Obelix vs. Caesar, Darkstalker Kaathe in Dark Souls, Sliske in Runescape, the English dub of Rhadallis in Xenoblade Chronicles 2: Torna - The Golden Country.
Personality[]
Bruno Osvalt describes The Grand Master as a callous man hellbent on world domination. He is a devious planner and wrathful with a vain streak which he hides to prevent it from being his hamartia. He revels in his power over his followers and is shown to be very convincing.
Physical appearance[]
The Grand Master is a bald, white man. He has thick eyebrows, and is often seen wearing his robes. He has brown eyes. In his second appearance, he sustains severe facial burns.

Background[]
The Grand Master was at some point born or raised in France. He was a CEO of a successful company, which allowed him to use his influence and encourage people to join his cult and achieve world domination. Where any of his disciples failed him, he would have them killed by an assassin.
Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars[]
The Grand Master is seen at a meeting in the French catacombs. There, he discusses the disappearance of Klausner, a follower of his, who had been trying to search for information on the Sword of Baphomet. Disappointed by the lack of progress and their rival's developments, he informs his cult they shall not meet until they have harnessed the Sword of Baphomet's power.
After locating the sword and discovering how to yield its power, The Grand Master convenes the Neo-Templars in Scotland. The Grand Master receives the sword's powers. After Augustin Rosso kills Eklund, he shoots Rosso for betraying too organisation. With Rosso dead and his space in the organisation free, he encourages George Stobbart to join the cult, but he refuses. The Grand Master orders the cult to kill Nico and George and they chase after them. Nico and George distract the Grand Master by causing a fire atop a deposit of old gunpowder. George and Nico escape, leaving the Neo-Templars inside as the church explodes, leaving The Grand Master presumed dead.
Broken Sword: The Sleeping Dragon[]
In the third instalment of the Broken Sword franchise, it is revealed The Grand Master survived the explosion after being saved and healed by Petra. The Grand Master still retains the power he absorbed from the Sword of Baphomet. He starts a fire in a bar, trapping Bruno Osvalt inside for betraying him. He then later appears in the abandoned theatre killing Susarro's henchmen.
When The Grand Master's identity is finally revealed to Nico and George, he explains that he still intends to rule the world with his newfound godly powers. He explains he lost control over the Neo-Templars to Susarro, and, as punishment for this, kills him with his powers. After George escapes and pursues The Grand Master in Glastonbury. The Grand Master receives the full extent of his powers and is transformed into a dragon. A fight between George and the dragon ensues, resulting in The Grand Master being slain by Excalibur.

- Augustin Rosso - speared (or shot, in the Director's Cut) in the throat for betraying him when Rosso kills Eklund.
- Susarro - killed using his energy-harnessed powers.
