The Granny is a major antagonist in the Little Nightmares DLC Secrets of the Maw. She is an elderly giant monster that attempts to kill the Runaway Kid. She has the ability to swim through the water, and destroy floating structures to try and make him fall in.
Characteristics[]
Unlike the other inhabitants of the Maw, the Granny does not appear to help the Maw function in any way. Rather, she seems to live in the depths, alone with nothing but Leeches to accompany her and forgotten by the outside world. The Granny seems to live a depressing and tragic life, eternally in the darkest depths of the maw while scrounging for any available scraps left to feed on.
Like many of the other residents, the Granny becomes highly aggressive upon spotting children, particularly the Runaway Kid. However, the Granny's motivation to capture the Runaway Kid could at least be empathized with due to her lack of resources and desire to feed (as shown when she grabs the grotesque pieces of fish thrown into the water).
Appearance[]
She has aged wrinkled yellowish-skin, a very slender body, a brown dress, sagging breasts, and a balding head with grayish hair. She is gigantic (like most other humanoid antagonists) compared to the protagonist.
Biography[]
The Granny first appears in the Kid's dream. In the dream, he is swimming through dirty water when he is abruptly pulled under water.
She makes her first real appearance after the Kid passes through a few puzzles and Leeches. He reaches a room with dirty water and furniture in the corner, and begins swimming to the other side. The furniture begins to shake and then a creature (only seen as bubbles) underwater approaches him. After a long increment of time, she is again seen chasing the Runaway Kid when he reaches a large room with a couch in it. He is again chased to each surface until he reaches the other side. The Kid performs a few more trials until he reaches a room that he has to drain. Once he does, it is revealed to be the Granny's living quarters. Every piece of furniture is tied to the ground. Another few trials pass before he reaches a large corridor flooded with dirty water. Again, the Granny chases him to every surface. A few more rooms pass until the Kid reaches a room where he first gets to see her full body. After knocking down a door, the Kid enters a room where the Granny is sitting on a chair in the background. Once she sees the Kid, she hops into the water. This is another large segment where the Kid is chases to every surface. Additionally, she will dismantle various wooden platforms that the Kid climbs onto. At the end of this segment, the Kid hops onto a wooden surface with a TV that she will try to dismantle. On the platform on the other side of this one, the child will have turned on the TV. It slides into the water, and she is electrocuted.

Trivia[]
- Whenever the Kid hops onto a surface in the water, the Granny will bump it from underneath, smash it, or pull it under (depends on the surface) in an attempt to knock him off.
- The Granny makes a cameo appearance in Very Little Nightmares as a jack-in-the-box.
- Fans discovered that you could glitch the Granny's model when she's sitting in the chair section. Doing this will make it so that her model won't get up from the chair, but the child will still be chased.
- The Lady's deformed face is exactly that of the Granny's face.
- There's a secret model of the Granny hidden under the map making rocker signs with her fingers.
