Biography[]
Background[]
The Warden was a Confederate Soldier in The American Civil War. One day in 1865, The Warden and some of his men held out in the Town of Ashwood, gathering an estimated 8,000 cavalry and battery forces for an impeding attack on the Union. However, One Confederate Scout warned them that The Union was on their way to Ashwood, so they decided to preemptively strike them before they reach the town. As they rode to meet the Union by the drawn of the next day, The Warden noticed that several of his cavalry's horses started to die off, leaving many of his men vulnerable to The Union's offense. The Warden, not looking to perish to the Union's attack, ran away from the battlefield and hid from both Union soldiers and Confederate soldiers that were looking and finding for deserters. Suddenly, he realized soon after the horses had been poisoned while he and his platoon were in Ashwood by the rich and wealthy people of Ashwood, who knew that the Confederacy was going to lose the war and wanted to get on the Union's good graces when they rode into the town. Betrayed, he held a grudge against the wealthy, believing that ideals don't matter, and that self interest is their only creed. Some time later, The Warden has now arrived into the Dark Aether at an unknown point in time, but he was not native to The Dark Aether as he felt confused when he first arrived in The Dark Aether and by the time he began contacting Dr. Pericles Panos, he had a mastery of The Dark Aether and could change his voice and mimic those of others. It is suspected that The Great Voice has similar abilities to those of The Forsaken, as he commented on the latter being an Impostor and he managed to become a Demonic Announcer.
It is also known that The Warden speaks in a Southern American, and wears Western themed attired, including a Cowboy hat, boots, duster coat and wore sunglasses.
Manipulating Panos And Liberty Falls[]
At Project Janus Headquarters aka Janus Towers, shortly after the spread of Aetherium Flora in Tower 1, The Warden began to speak to Dr. Pericles Panos, the scientist working with Project Janus at Liberty Falls. He began to slowly manipulate him, promising him knowledge if he submitted and became his servant. He later showed him a vision of The Dark Ather, revealing to him a world that once was, including the landmarks with points of locations including a Farm, a Town, a cabin with the lake, a floating Pyramid, a Tower and a Diner, promising that this world will be restored, as would he accept. At one point, Panos began to design a living weapon, based on the knowledge that The Warden bestowed upon him. However, Panos' pet project was not able to make further progress, only remaining as a cyst contained within his laboratory at Janus Towers. On February 19th, 1991, a Dark Aether outbreak occurred in the town of Liberty Falls, West Virginia. Panos hid in the church, which soon became enveloped by the dimension, and he let himself was converted into a ghost spectral like form that was unable to leave. The Warden helped him with the creation of the Simultaneous Dimensional Gateway. Which could restore his physical human body. The Next Day, Alpha Strike Team, a Project Janus response team has arrived at the town to contain the outbreak. On the orders of Security Chief John Blanchard, they met up with Panos, who manipulated them into powering up the SDG, claiming it would end the outbreak. As they worked to do so, Panos spoke with The Warden, who was not physically present, promising to fulfill his end of the bargain, much to the suspicion and confusion of Blanchard and his team. Eventually, Alpha Team powered up the SDG, allowing Panos to extract their life energy, giving him a physical form but stripping them of theirs, allowing him to leave with Alpha Team trapped in his place.
The Warden sent Panos to the HQ facility at Janus Towers. While there, he commanded Panos to get the essence of John Blanchard. Fortunately, Grigori Weaver, Mackenzie Carver, Elizabeth Grey and Maya Aguinaldo arrived to the facility roughly ten days later on the 28th. Panos pleaded with them to betray Blanchard and help him. Depending on the players actions, they could either suck the essence of either Panos or Blanchard.
Ashes of the Damned[]
Following Weaver, Carver, Grey and Maya Aguinaldo appearing in the Dark Aether, they were met with Dr. Edward Richtofen, "Tank" Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski and Takeo Masaki. Minutes later, The Warden appeared and sucked in their essence, then left them to be killed by zombies. However, he later found out that they were in fact still alive.
Kidnapping Jansen[]
In 2021, Ava Jansen arrived and went to Liberty Falls to research Project Janus. Due to her, and the town's connection to The Dark Aether, The Dimension began appearing in the hotel motel room, with The Warden appearing in the mirror and mimicked the voice of Samantha Maxis. Once Ava Jansen grew near, The Warden tricked her by reaching out to the mirror and allowing him to pull her into The Dark Aether as Sergei Ravenov frantically calls her out. It is known that Ravenov and Operation Deadbolt are going to find and rescue Ava Jansen from The Warden from The Dark Aether and defeat The Warden.
