Villain Overview

The Guests are an essential part of The Maw’s life-cycle. Herded into the large hall, they slump into their bowing stools, and there they feed. Without taste, without need, without end. And then they leave, one way or another.
~ Website Description

The Guests are supporting antagonists in the horror video game Little Nightmares. They are large, morbidly obese people who board The Maw to gorge themselves in food specially prepared for them by The Twin Chefs. However, they won't hesitate to catch and eat Six if they spot her.

Their vocal effects were provided by Tobias Lilja, Christian Vasselbring and Henrik Larsson.

Characteristics[]

The Guests are said to board the Maw so that they may consume dishes made especially for them. Their life before boarding the ship appears to involve a lot of eating as well, as they were very obese before boarding. When boarding, they walk in a single-file line and then sit down at a table and just begin shoving food into their mouths. Rather than using utensils, they shove piles of food into their mouths using their hands, their goal seeming to be to get as much food inside of themselves as possible.

After entering the Maw, the guests are never seen again. It is heavily implied that their souls are consumed by the Lady and/or that their bodies are prepared for future meals. Evidence to support this includes one of the Chefs coming up to one of the guests rooms and begin chopping something in their rooms. After eating, they are seen going to their rooms to sleep due to a possible food coma. After Six obtained the Lady's powers, she walked to the exist and consumed the souls of the nearby Guests that she walked by. Six is theorized to be the Lady herself, as Mono appeared to be the the Thin Man, whom was said game's main antagonist (The Lady was the first game's main antagonist).

For some reasons, the Guests, due to being mindless and ravenous gluttons, will consume whatever food they can get a hold of. For reasons unknown, they are fixated on devouring the flesh of living children over all else. If they spot Six, they will flip their table and crawl after her on all fours. If they manage to catch her, they will shove her into their mouth and go back to eating their meal. Later in the game, hoards of the Guests begin chasing after Six and destroying everything in their path. They go so far as to put their lives in danger and even kill themselves when they get the opportunity to possibly obtain Six. It is unknown if they crave all children in this way, or if Six is special to them.

Appearance[]

All Guests have large bodies and facial deformities. They have buttoned up clothing, wrinkly skin, and pig-like features. Only females have hair. Some male guests where white masks. Most males don't seem to have any hair. Most of the clothing that they wear seems to become too small the more they eat.

History[]

Little Nightmares[]

After defeating The Twin Chefs, Six makes their way to the outer part of The Maw. While climbing on the outer part of the ship, The Guests are able to be boarding The Maw from another ship. As Six makes their way back into the Maw, The Guests will be seen stomping in an orderly fashion deeper into The Maw. After a short while, Six will finally make it to the dining area, where the guests are devouring large piles of food by shoving them into their mouths. The first guest they encounter only has a chance at capturing them, but the first guest in the next room will see Six right away. He will knock over his table, get on all fours, and chase after them. While Six runs away, other Guests will try to capture Six. They will make their way on top of a table and climb a pile of dishes until they reach a hanging light. They swing from it to get to the next room while a female guest tries to reach them. The next area will be filled with a wide table of guests eating. They won't see Six until they hop onto of the table, as it is part of their path. These Guests will reach for Six, but they are not as persistent as the others. They will climb up a room filled with more gorging guests, but only the guests in the far back will notice them once they get close enough. They will get off of their seats and chase after them, but Six will escape by jumping to the next room. This next room has with another long table filled with guests. The guest at the end will notice Six and chase them. Six will have to chase them to one end, trap them, jump on top of their body, and then be chased the other way. They will make their way into a new area where they will need to face one of The Chefs.

After Six makes their way back to the dining area, hoards of Guests on all fours will open the sliding doors in each room and chase after Six. Six will have to run away from the wave of Guests while they cause destruction and furniture to fall over. After reaching an area with Guests eating at a table and having the hoard chase Six onto it, they will jump onto a lamp and escape. One of the guests will fall to their death.

The Guests are last seen at the end of the game while Six walks down a hallway. They will reach for them, but once they get to close they'll have their souls sucked out of their bodies. One by one, every guest that they walk by has their souls sucked out until they reach the end of the hallway.

Little Nightmares (comic series)[]

Guests are seen in business outfits walking down the streets in the comic series. Six has to avoid them before they stomp them. Eventually, the Ferryman points out Six and all of the Guests point to them as well.

They are again seen when Six turns on a light, illuminating a bright room. It will reveal a pile of Guests reaching for Six, and they will have to run away from them.
