Overview[]

The Guide is a boss in Slap Battles. He was previously a removed NPC, and he became a decoration under the Lobby. Clicking on the knife in their chest will grant you the court evidencebadge.

Appearance[]

The Guide looks like a classic Roblox noob. He has a yellow head and arms, a blue torso, and bright yellowish-green legs. On his head, he wears a yellow bucket hat featuring the classic Roblox smiley face, which casts a shadow over the upper part of his head.

History[]

The Guide was a removed NPC. He was featured in the old lobby and could be found on the left of spawn. He would answer your questions about Slap Battles, such as how to play the game, what abilities are, what speed and power mean, etc. Since the way to talk to him was through Roblox's dialogue feature, only one person could talk to him at a time. After his removal, he was considered canonically dead.

To find The Guide in the Lobby, you now have to go under the spawn location and you will see The Guide in front of a tombstone with a knife stabbed in his chest. Clicking on the knife will give you the badge: court evidence. According to Tencell, The Guide was useless which is one of the main reasons why it was removed.

Behind where he lies, there is a tombstone. The tombstone reads: "Here Lies Guide 21/02/2021 - 28/02/2021 'he wasn't that helpful tbh' ".

Boss Fight[]

Phase 1 (Slapstractor)[]

In phase 1 of the Guide Bossfight, there are 7 types of attacks that are similar to certain gloves found in the main game. They appear in this order throughout the Bossfight:

Replica: Around the arena will spawn clones of The Guide, they deal knockback if they slap you but deal no damage. Try to eliminate them all before the pusher walls spawn, as they can quickly overwhelm you,

Pusher: 5 Moving walls will spawn during this phase that go from one side to the other side, even though the walls are lower than normal, you still can't jump over them. Tip: zoom your camera out and stay towards the center. Be vigilant of the ground, and get ready to slap the Track gloves once the ground flashes with a red glow.

Track: The Slapstractor will fire four Track missiles one by one that target a random player. They deal one heart of damage: This is the only way to deal damage to the Slapstractor. After slapping a Track missile, it will automatically turn around and hit the Slapstractor, regardless of aim, which will deal damage to it.

Tip: Wait for the missile to get close (but not too close), then walk backwards and strafe right, turning your camera left. This should put the missile right in front of your glove if timed correctly, and allow you a second to slap it.

Meteor: Similar to the meteor glove, the ground will have shadows which will turn red. When one of them is fully red, a meteor will falls in that shadow. They are slower and appear less frequently than its glove counterpart, making them easy to avoid. They deal knockback plus one heart of damage. Unlike their counterpart in the main game, these meteors create smoke upon landing, which can obscure your vision, making it harder to see other attacks. Tip: relatively easy to avoid, just keep moving.

Conveyor: You will see arrows that indicate the direction of the wind, which will push you back. Unlike the actual Conveyor glove, jumping pushes you faster instead of negating the effect. Tip: these are lumped in with the next section so read the tip for the next one.

Kraken: Kraken arms appear and slam on the ground in quick succession. They deal lots of knockback and one heart of damage. Their hitbox has been fixed to be closer to its orange impact outline. Tip: zoom your camera all the way out and be vigilant. If an arm hits you, you may get launched into another one. You can jump and use the conveyor to your advantage to escape the arms. Also, when the arm rears up, it can still hit you. Stay clear from the space behind an arm.

Golem: A bigger version of the golem in the main game appears in the middle of the arena. It targets the nearest player. Once it get close enough, it will pound the ground, dealing one heart of damage. After that it will either do its second ranged move or another pound. After it is slapped five times, it will crumble and despawn. Tip: Stay close to the center circle while the golem spawns. This will make the golem attack while it's spawning. You can then go in and directly hit it 3 times. Back off after the 3rd slap, and wait for it to hit again before finishing it off, jumping while circling it could help with dodging the second attack. If you’re playing with multiple players have the remaining players that aren't being targeted attack the golem.

Phase 2 (Enraged Slapstractor)[]

In Phase 2 of the Guide Bossfight, all the attacks before will be the same but will happen faster and spawn less in certain phases. Use the same tips as above.

Replica: Around the arena will spawn 2 clones of the Guide, they still deal no damage.

Pusher: 3 moving walls will spawn during this phase that go from one side to the other side.

Track: The Slapstractor will fire three Track missiles faster one by one and target a random player, still dealing a heart of damage.

Meteor: Similar to the meteor glove, the ground will have shadows which will turn red. When one of them is fully red, a meteor will falls in that shadow. They happen more often than the first phase, making them harder to avoid. They deal knockback and deal one heart of damage. Since there are more meteors, the smoke from these meteors can potentially make the fight harder by preventing you from seeing other attacks.

Conveyor/Booster: You will see arrows that indicate the direction of the wind, which will push you back. Unlike the actual Conveyor glove, jumping pushes you faster instead of negating the effect, similar to Booster glove’s effect from the main game.

Kraken: Kraken arms appear and slam on the ground just the same as the first round. They deal knockback and one heart of damage.

Golem: A bigger version of the golem in the main game appears in the middle of the arena. It targets the nearest player. After it is slapped five times, it will crumble and despawn.

Phase 3 (Guide)[]

In Phase 3 of the Guide Bossfight, after you destroy the Slaptractor, the Guide has two types of attacks: one similar to a glove from the main game and the other involving the Guide himself.

Falling Spike: This attack resembles the meteor glove. You’ll see shadows on the ground that turn red. When a shadow is completely red, a spike will fall there, dealing knockback and one heart of damage. Be careful of the smoke particles; they’re a big threat if you know how to avoid them. Make sure to be aware of all the shadows and run away as soon as one spawns near you.

Guide Attack: The Guide enters the arena using the Flash glove, allowing him to teleport behind you or around the arena. He does have a cooldown after each teleport. If a player slaps him, he’ll get knocked back. His health varies depending on how many players are in the fight. After you slap him enough times, a cutscene will play where he slips off the arena but catches himself. All remaining players will then receive a prompt to either "Save Guide" or "Kill Guide." The choice with the most votes will trigger a corresponding cutscene after a timer runs out.

Tips:[]

- Be very aware of Guide's teleportation ability. If you aren’t paying attention, he can easily teleport behind you and slap you.

- Your glove has a larger hitbox than usual, but the Guide has a bigger reach, especially if you're playing at 70-80 ping.

- Approach him from his left side (or offhand) when he’s walking forward, slap him, and then retreat immediately.

- If you’re not getting Avatar, wait until you have at least 3 hearts before attacking, as you can quickly fall into a combo.

- Avoid just rushing in; you’ll likely trade slaps and get knocked out. This phase can be very stressful, so you might want to stall and regain your HP or sanity.

- It takes 20 hits to defeat him, and it’s best to attack when he’s moving forward. Jumping makes it easier for him to hit you.

Recently, players have discovered a rare occurrence where if you hit the Guide 1-3 times and wait for him to teleport back to his original spawn point in Phase 3, there's a low chance (>10%) to skip the entire fight and go directly to the cutscene where he falls off.

Trivia[]

  • In his wanted poster, his name is GUIDE, showing a bounty of  EXCLUSIVE REWARD . An evil man, dead or alive. In the bottom of left, a small sentence can be showed saying "Convicted of illegal wide-spread scamming, illegal self-cloning, Murder, Double Murder, Unpaid Taxes, Stealing a Balloon on Free Balloon Day and, like, a lot more".
    • According to this trailer and the Guide's note in Slap Royale The Guide hasn’t committed any crimes.
    • The poster is shown on the Hitman glove.
    • Instead of  EXCLUSIVE REWARD, The Guide’s wanted poster used to say  100,000,000 SLAPS(one hundred million slaps). This was most likely changed because of the new Bossfight for The Guide, where you can defeat him and being rewarded a hundred million slaps would be too much.
    • The "Stealing a Balloon on Free Balloon Day" crime, is a reference to an episode of Spongebob where he and Patrick accidentally stole a red balloon and was jailed shortly for a couple of seconds due to being Free Balloon Day.
  • The Guide was originally seen in the Old Staff Lounge.
  • According to a Slap Royale secret, when The Guide was in the game, everyone thought that he was useless and should be dead, so he escaped to the Slap Royale island while also making a replica of himself pretending to be dead and left a paper.
  • The Hitman asks the player if they have heard of somebody known as "The Guide".
  • The Guide came back as a boss to celebrate 2 billion visits.
    • In the Slap Battles Discord, Tencell hosted a poll, asking which character to make as the villain in a boss fight. Pim, an enemy in the Elude Maze, won, the community thought that the poll was rigged due to the parenthesis stating that Pim was Tencelll's favorite, so another poll was created. This time, The Guide won and would receive a boss fight in July 19, 2024.
  • The Guide is currently the only bossfight which can award you with three different Gloves. They are Relude, Hunter, and Avatar.
  • The clones spawned from Guide using Replica actually hold the Default glove instead of Replica.
  • This is the dialogue of The Guide while in the boss fight. This is when you choose to save him.
    • The player helps The Guide up. "You... you saved me? I... have no words. Thank you... honestly I never wanted to fight... I just wanted to be left alone, but... I was framed and have been running since... I'm glad you changed your mind. Here, come with me, I want to show you something!"
    • The Guide lets us enter his lab. "I've been working on this for quite some time... a glove that can send me far away from here, where I won't ever be found. I can start a new life for myself! I want you to use it. Once I'm gone, feel free to keep it, it the least I can do for the compassion you showed me. Ok... I'm ready. And... thank you... for showing me that good people still exist." The player slaps him and he's gone.
