The Hermit is one of the secondary antagonists of the 2024 supernatural horror film, Tarot.

He is the anthropomorphic and demonic version of the card, who was called by Lucas, who was unaware that the card is the project of Astrologer curse.

He was portrayed by James Swanton, who also portrayed The Magician in the same film.

Biography

In the 18th century, The Hermit, originally just Tarot card, was contained by Astrologer after she committed suicide starting the curse. In the process the Hermit Demon spirit was made by Astrologer, being used to kill people who touched the card.

On Elise's birthday, Lucas picked The Hermit, which foreshadows Lucas's fate soon later.

Later, after Elise's death, Lucas went back home, only to be stalked by The Hermit. When Lucas entered the subway station, The Hermit stalked him through the station into darkness. Lucas went to the station depot, which The Hermit successfully pushed off Lucas in the train car, made Lucas hit by a train also operated by The Hermit.

Afterward, after Haley made all of Tarot cards and the Astrologer disappear, The Hermit soul, along with all of Tarot cards - were destroyed, thus ending his reign of terror once and for all.
