The Husks are the first guards and major antagonists in the "Spooky's Dollhouse" DLC for the videogame Spooky's Jump Scare Mansion. They are a hostile species of bloody and cracked baby dolls who like most of the monsters in the game, will chase the player.

Biography[]

Husks possessed souls trapped within deformed baby dolls. They are first encountered in the West Wing and Northside Studios of the dollhouse after obtaining the key from the Piano Room. They will chase after the player and deal at least an eighth of the player's healthbar for each attack. They are easy to run away from given their slow speed, but can overwhelm an unprepared player if encountered in groups. They can be struck with the axe, and after three hits they will collapse into globs on the floor.

In the Great Hall, a group of twelve inactive Husks are moved by Spooky in front of an electric barrier. Placing the doll on a nearby pedestal will turn off the barrier, but activate the Husks. The player can either fight against the hoard or simply run past them.

If the player is killed by a Husk, their death screen is a close up of a purple Husk face with a black background. Text appears that reads "Scarlet burning holes are placed into the skin and flesh rebound into an unfamiliar form. Molded into something new, the husk reshaped into a skin more accepting of the howling void."

After the mansion is destroyed and the Hellgate shut, all spirits within it (including the Husks presumably) escaped into the afterlife and found peace.

Endless Mode[]

The Husks were added to the Endless Mode in the 2021 Halloween Update. Their starting room is based on the Doll House. They will either start active or dormant, becoming active if the player gets close enough. They will stop chasing the player if all pursuing Husks are killed.

Personality[]

The Husks are mute for the most part, only making noises. According to their past the Husks are vengeful and despise GL Labs for what they had done to them, and are loyal to Spooky as well.

Trivia[]

  • Husks will not appear in rooms with another type of enemy in it.
  • All Husks will go dormant when the the player enters the Great Hall for the first time. They will become active again when the player enters the GL Labs.
