The Ick is the titular main antagonist of the 2024 sci-fi horror comedy film Ick.
Appearance[]
The Ick itself appears as a black/fleshy red coloured substance similar to slimes and it usually acts like roots. when infecting people, said infected usually bear large black veins and can burst into a tendriled mass. In its final form, it appears as a monstrous mass of tentacles and tendrils.

Origins[]
At some point during the early 2000's, the Ick would appear in the town of East-brook. no one knows how it got there, wether it be from some meteor or government experiment . When it landed, the Ick would spread quickly throughout the town and/or earth itself, and whenever people tried to remove the organism, it would just grow back. Eventually, humanity started to simply ignore it as it continued its spread. During this early period, the ick would soon dash high school quarterback hanks dreams of football stardom he tripped over a ick root, causing him to break his leg.

18 years later the ick would continue its spread, causing people to become more uneasy about the organism, despite the relative unease, the organism was still not a threat and it was also discovered , by now science teacher Hank, that the organism is sensitive to uv light, preferring its spread in the cover darkness.
While hank sees the infected man in his deceased fathers bar , the infected man would begin to sprout tentacles as it killed a cat and tries to kill hank until hank kills the infected man using an electrical sign.
Hank would discover more ink infected people including police officers, these infected officers seem to worship the ick. The infected officers, alongside hanks Spanish teacher ,who burst in a mass of tendrils, try to forcefully infect hank but he manages to break out of the police car and escapes, realising the ick is now intelligent and begun infecting wildlife and humans, especially those more active at night.
After evading the infected, hank would try to warn his ex-fiancé grace and her friends at a party about the ick, but most of the partygoers don't believe in him, thinking he was joking until the ick itself attacks the party, killing several partygoers and infecting several others, including graces fiancé Dylan. Before the ick was about to kill or infect grace and hank, the military stepped in, using bright lights against the ick and transporting hank, grace and other survivors into a safe zone, the other survivors still think the ick isn't a threat despite its attacks.
By morning, many townsfolk have become infected with normal appearances, still seemingly worshipping the ick. At sunset, hank would save grace from an unknowingly infected Dylan and drove away as the ick evolved in the present night as it attack their car, flipping it over and cornering them against the substance. Before the ick can break into the car, hank and grace set a fire to back off the ick and called graces cousin, whose truck had powerful headlights that cleared away the oncoming ick.
The next morning, the ick would somehow evolve more, creating an illusion of hanks deceased father. At sunset, the town prepares for Eastbrook High's prom the following night. Before the prom, Hank meets with Staci and asks her about the possibility of Grace being his daughter due to a saliva sample. As Staci considers the likelihood, she is pulled underground and killed by the Ick. Hank, now strapped in uv lights to protect him from the ick, tries to warn the uninfected townsfolk, including kim ,about the ick, but to no avail as Kim is consumed by the organism inside his own car. The ick quickly attacks the prom, killing several prom-goers. Before an infected Dylan tries to get intimate with grace, hank burst in and soon reveals to grace Dylan's true, infected form. together, hank and grace fend off and kill the infected.
Hank and grace, alongside survivors heather and griffin, try to turn on the football fields lights as they're powerful enough to paralyse the ick. As hank goes outside to manually turn the lights on, grace is confronted by her now infected parents. As the group turn on the lights, the ick turns into a monstrous form and collapses the light poles. the creature pursues the 4 alongside other survivors, soon only hank, grace, heather and griffin remain. Before the ick strikes, dawn breaks and the ick suddenly freezes, but clouds begin to form, blocking out the sun and reanimating the ick. just before the ick consumes them, the sun breaks forth again, hardening the ick and ending its attack.
Legacy[]
After the Icky disaster, the towns remaining residents soon hang uv lights around the area, preventing the ick from spreading ever further.
