The Key was a minor antagonist in the TV series Justice League Unlimited .
He was voiced by Corey Burton , who also voiced Brainiac in the same universe and his Legion of Super Heroes counterpart , Megatron in Transformers: Animated , two incarnations of Shockwave, Megavolt in Let's Get Dangerous! , Dr. N. Gin and Dr. Nefarious Tropy in Crash N. Sane Trilogy and Crash Team Racing: Nitro-Fuelled , Count Dooku and Cad Bane in Star Wars: Clone Wars and Zeus in the God of War franchise.
Biography [ ] The Key appears as a member of the latest incarnation of the Secret Society of Supervillains. He was sent by Gorilla Grodd to rescue Lex Luthor from police officers and later accompanies Luthor and Doctor Polaris on a mission to a deserted island where the military used to keep weapons confiscated during World War II. While Luthor does his job he and Polaris fight several members of the Justice League and managed to escape with the Spear of Longinus which Grodd wanted cause he thought it would look nice on the wall in his office.
Later, in the episode "Dead Reckoning" the Key is seen with other members of the Legion fighting the Justice League.
In the episode "Alive" he sided against Luthor in the mutiny and was frozen by Killer Frost . The Key is subsequently destroyed by the resurrected Darkseid as the Hall of Doom explodes in deep space.
Trivia [ ] The Key was originally going to play a major role in the final season where he would be connected to Brainiac in some way which explains his prominence in the beginning, him being on good terms with Luthor, and having the same voice actor as Brainiac.
