The Legendary Giant Tyrant Triffid is a boss from the Data East video game series Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja.

Appearances

He is a giant green man-eating plant, closely resembling a Venus Flytrap. He originally appeared as the second boss in the Arcade version of Joe & Mac: Caveman Ninja. In the Arcade and DOS versions, he can spit seeds to grow Tyrant Triffids, attack using his vines or eat the player alive by grabbing both of them, spitting out the players skeletons in the process.

The NES and Game Boy versions removed his vines, but he still retains the ability to eat the player if approached to closely. However, the player is killed in the NES version and stripped of his flesh.

In the SNES and Amiga versions, he loses the ability to consume both players, but retains his vines and still has the ability to spit new Tyrant Triffids. However, going close to him in the Amiga version while his jaw is opened will kill the player upon contact.

The Sega Genesis version is very much like the Arcade, DOS and Amiga versions, but the boss loses the ability to eat the players and the seeds he spits cannot sprout.
