This villain was proposed but was rejected by the community for not being heinous enough or lacks what is necessary to be a Pure Evil villain. Therefore, this villain shall be added to our "Never Again List", where proposed villains rejected by the community shall be placed to prevent future proposals of the same evil-doer. They can be proposed again (with the permission of an administrator) if new elements appear in their series that can change their status as non-PE villains. “ | Ice Wizard... so you have risen again... (chuckles)- in olden days, I would have rewarded your insolence with death a thousand fold... | „ |
~ The Lich to Simon Petrikov, upon seeing he's alive. |
“ | Great Embodiment of Chaos, hear me! For ages untold, I studied your ways, devoting my existence to you. I strove to be your vassal, on the physical plain. To build mountains of bodies in your honor! To extinguish all life! And in my universe, this I achieved! But it gave me no satisfaction...in succeeding, I lost all purpose. [...] WHY?! Why must this be?! HEAR ME, GOLB! | „ |
~ The Lich demanding answers from GOLB. |
“ | ANSWER ME!! What more could I have done!? What do you want from me NOW!?! What? | „ |
~ Extinct World Lich’s final words, before having all his bones removed and remade into a Tetris block by GOLB. |
The Extinct World version of the Lich, also known as Jerry, is a minor character in the MAX adult animated television series Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake, a spin-off of the Cartoon Network original series Adventure Time.
He is an alternate version of the Lich who succeeded in his quest to exterminate all life, presumably after wishing for it to Prismo. However, thanks to his wish, The Lich fell into a depressive and nearly catatonic state due to there being no more life to kill, but the visit of Fionna Campbell, Cake the Cat, Simon Petrikov and Scarab to his universe peaks his interest.
Like his other counterparts, he was voiced by Ron Perlman, who also played Clayface in the DC Animated Universe, Pap Finn in The Adventures of Huck Finn, Mr. Grasping in An American Tail: The Treasure of Manhattan Island, Drekk in Men in Black: The Series, Count Nikolas Rokoff in The Legend of Tarzan, Dieter Reinhardt in Blade II, the Viceroy in Star Trek: Nemesis, the High Mage in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003), Slade in Teen Titans, Bane, Killer Croc and Rumor in The Batman, Kago in Tarzan II, Hoodoo Brown in Gun, Sheriff Collie Entragian in Desperation, Biff Wellington in Scooby-Doo! Pirates Ahoy!, Justice in Afro Samurai, Warhok in Kim Possible, Sozin in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Clay Morrow in Sons of Anarchy, Gha Nachkt in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Nicola in Bunraku, the Stabbington Brothers in the Tangled franchise, Nino in Drive, Sinestro in Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Deathstroke in Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, Polyphemus in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, Rust in Payday 2, Xibalba in The Book of Life, Armaggon in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012), Gnarlak in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Bular in Trollhunters and the Podestà in Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio.
Appearance[]
He appears identical to the main version, but the skin of Billy has decayed heavily with time. More of the Lich's bones are exposed thanks to flesh rotting away, and his beard appears to now be in knots. One of his eyes also appears to have fallen out of the socket and hangs from it now, appearing to be decaying.
Personality[]
Unlike the main version, this Lich succeeded in his quest to end all life, and as a result, fallen into a heavily depressive state, even sparing Simon Petrikov out of a lack of motivation.
Biography[]
Background[]
Somehow, this version of The Lich succeeded in killing all life, presumably by the wish that the original Lich made to Prismo the Wishmaster at the Time Room in "Finn The Human" if him wearing Billy's skin is of any indication. Life was wiped out instantly, leaving BMO as the only remaining being due to being non-organic. However, with nothing more to kill, the Lich found himself all alone and, ironically, fell into a state of depression. BMO eventually found the Lich in his den, and "befriended" him, presumably to his apathy, naming him Jerry.
Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake[]
Fionna Campbell, Cake the Cat and Simon Petrikov arrive in the extinct world in search of the magic Ice Crown. After searching for awhile, Fionna finds the crown, but hides it after discovering what Simon will become when he puts it on. After BMO sacrifices himself in an attempt to re-power the remote, Cake suggests they tell his friend Jerry the bad news. It is then, when the cast discovers the Lich in his den, atop a mound of skeletons.
Upon noticing the intruders, the Lich expresses confusion at Simon's continued life, but opts not to kill him, which is the clue Simon needs to put together that the Lich is depressed. After Fionna reveals she actually does have the crown, which she found in the ruins of the Ice Kingdom, they recreate the summoning ritual to send her and Cake back to their world, using the Lich as a magic battery. After they are sent home, Scarab arrives, ready to finish his mission. Simon thinks of Betty Groff, activating a portal to GOLB, which Simon and Scarab fall into. This causes the Lich to react strangely, his pupil turning into an image of GOLB.
The Lich and Simon arrive in GOLB’s dimension, and the former prays to his master, explaining that despite achieving in his quest within his universe, he‘s gotten no satisfaction from it. He also explains that he wished to bring extinction to all life in honor of GOLB, and demands his master to explain what more he could do for him. However, GOLB becomes angered by the Lich and transforms his body into a hendecahedron within his dimension, either killing him for good or presumably leaving him imprisoned within the realm for eternity.

Trivia[]
- It's possible that rather than an alternate version of The Lich, this Lich is actually the original one, who got sent to this reality after wishing to Prismo the extinction of all life in "Finn the Human", much like how Finn was transported into Farmworld and he became Ice Finn until Jake the Dog wished for the Lich's wish to be changed.
- However, it's also possible that The Lich's existence was split into both this reality and the prime universe since Jake's consciousness created a paradox. A cut line in the original storyboard of "Crossover" has Prismo briefly explaining how Farmworld still exists; Jake was still in the Time Room when Finn left so instead of replacing one reality, his consciousness split it into two realities. Since Jake's wish created a paradox which brought Finn back to the prime universe as Farmworld Finn continued to exist, it's equally possible that The Lich returned to the prime universe while also existing in this universe, due to the paradox Jake's wish created.
- Coincidentally, The Lich in his Farmworld state was told to let it go as the goal was meaningless.
- Some theorise that all of the multiple 3d shapes that were floating within GOLB's realm were all actually other Liches from universes where they too succeeded and came to GOLB after losing their purposes. Alternatively, they may be other servants of GOLB and not necessarily other Liches.
