The Farmworld version of the Lich is the secondary antagonist of the Adventure Time franchise.
He is an alternate incarnation from the Lich that was born when Finn the Human wished that the latter never existed. However, this inevitably leads to the spirit of the Lich entering Farmworld Jake and corrupting him into a new vessel while swaying Farmworld Finn to his side. He later tries to turn the version of himself that became Sweet P back into the original Lich before being seemingly vanquished by the young boy.
Like his prime counterpart, he was voiced by Ron Perlman, who also played Clayface in the DC Animated Universe, Pap Finn in The Adventures of Huck Finn, Mr. Grasping in An American Tail: The Treasure of Manhattan Island, Drekk in Men in Black: The Series, Count Nikolas Rokoff in The Legend of Tarzan, Dieter Reinhardt in Blade II, the Viceroy in Star Trek: Nemesis, the High Mage in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2003), Slade in Teen Titans, Bane, Killer Croc and Rumor in The Batman, Kago in Tarzan II, Hoodoo Brown in Gun, Sheriff Collie Entragian in Desperation, Biff Wellington in Scooby-Doo! Pirates Ahoy!, Justice in Afro Samurai, Warhok in Kim Possible, Sozin in Avatar: The Last Airbender, Clay Morrow in Sons of Anarchy, Gha Nachkt in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Nicola in Bunraku, the Stabbington Brothers in the Tangled franchise, Nino in Drive, Sinestro in Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Deathstroke in Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox, Polyphemus in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, Rust in Payday 2, Xibalba in The Book of Life, Armaggon in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2012), Gnarlak in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Bular in Trollhunters and the Podestà in Guillermo del Toro's Pinocchio.
History[]
Creation[]
When the prime world Lich wished for the extinction of all life from Prismo, Finn wished that the Lich never existed. As a result, Finn is transported to a different timeline known as the Farmworld Timeline, where he is a poor human living with his normal, non-talking dog, Jake. In said universe, Simon Petrikov sacrificed himself by getting in the way of the Mushroom Bomb, thus preventing it from exploding and awakening the essence of the Lich. However once Farmworld Finn gets a hold of his crown, he is driven insane by it's influence and granted the same powers as the Ice King, which triggers a bunch of events that cause the bomb to explode and awaken the Lich's essence. Farmworld Jake then fell into the pool of said essence, thus mutating into a Lich/Dog hybrid and attacking Finn.
Multiversal Distribution[]
In "Crossover", since the emergence of the Lich possessed Jake in Farmworld, he has been working to open a portal to the multiverse with Farmworld Finn with the ice crown at his side. They use the Enchiridion from Farmworld to collect gems and activate it using Bobby (Farmworld Billy). The real Finn and Jake then arrive to stop him by orders from Prismo.
They fight off the Lich but end up with Finn getting frozen and Jake getting captured. When Farmworld Finn opens the portal he is excited to live everywhere, but is brought down by the Lich when he says that in every dimension Finn and his parents would die. The Lich is about to kill Jake when frozen Finn's grass hand grows out a vine and cuts the Lich's hand off freeing Jake. Jake then tosses the hand into the portal and it arrives in Ooo. The Lich is then destroyed by Finn and Farmworld Finn using the maid-saving Farmworld and freeing Farmworld Jake from the Lich's control.
In "Whispers", the Lich hand from Farmworld still contains a portion of the Lich's spirit and has been chasing after Sweet P to change him back into another Lich. It is revealed that the Hand contains the same consciousness as the original Lich and can speak like the Lich. Finn chases the hand to the Lich's pit where it tries to throw Finn into it. Sweet P then arrives to help Finn and seemingly succumbs to the Lich's influence, who desires to free his prime counterpart from Sweet P's body. However it is later revealed to be a facade and Sweet P kills the hand with Finn's sword.
Distant Lands[]
One of the many copies of the Lich Hand landed in Dead Worlds, where he manipulated the son of Life and Death into murdering his father and taking his place as "New Death". The Lich hand would then bond with New Death by attaching himself to his pawn's right hand, where he would be covered up with a glove. Upon the Lich's influence, New Death ruled the Dead World with an iron fist, throwing people into the underworld, even those who were pure, while his main goal was planning to stop reincarnation. Upon Finn and Jake's deaths, their spirits are bent on stopping New Death and they receive a staff from Life that is supposed to defeat him. However, the candle that was keeping them in her lair burnt out, and they were gone before she could tell them how to use it.
They fight with New Death but struggle to kill him with the staff. Upon his reveal as the Lich's pawn, Finn and Jake fight each other over the staff so one will take New Death's perpetual place while the other doesn't have to. Mr. Fox shows up and takes the staff from them. As the Lich is attacking them, Mr. Fox holds the staff infront of him, killing New Death and thus taking his place as a result. However, the Lich Hand is still alive and tries to convince Mr. Fox to be his pawn by promising to be a faithful right-hand. Thankfully, Jake uses his powers to stomp on it and throws it away into the Dead World's darkest voidness, presumably to never be seen again, apparently ending the threat of the Farmworld's Lich for good.
