The Magician is one of the secondary antagonists of the 2024 supernatural horror film Tarot.

He is the anthropomorphic and demonic version of the card, who was called by Paige, unaware that the card is the project of Astrologer curse.

He was portrayed by James Swanton, who also portrayed The Hermit in the same film.

Biography

In the 18th century, The Magician, originally just Tarot card, was contained by Astrologer after she committed suicide to start the curse, so The Magician demon spirit was made by Astrologer in the process, who used to kill people who touched the card.

On Elise's birthday, Paige picked The Magician, which foreshadowed Paige's fate soon later.

When Paige accidently split up with Haley and Grant, she was lured into the basement, where the Magician made the light bulb explode, cause Paige lost her sight. Eventually, she went to the stage show where The Magician and the audiences standby. The Magician made Paige to lock her legs, then he made Paige hid into the Magician box, where was found by him, then bring it into the stage, successfully saw her into half, while Haley and Grant shocked in horror. The Audiences gave The Magician applaud for his "tricks".

Afterward, after Haley make all of Tarot card and the Astrologer to disappear, The Magician soul, among with all of Tarot cards - were destroyed, thus ending his reign of terror once and for all.
