UL-119-2, also known as The Matriarch, is a minor antagonist and boss in Gears 5. She was the first Locust hybrid to be created through Myrrah's immunity to Lambency and Sire DNA.

Biography

Past

During around the middle of the Pendulum Wars in Mount Kadar Laboratory, the Matriarch was created by the scientist, Dr. Niles Samson, with Myrrah's immunity to Imulsion cells and the DNA from the Sires after his failure to work on a cure for Rustlung which turned the children of the Imulsion Miners with Rustlung into Sires. The Matriarch was proved to be hard to control due to her violent nature, but grows a bond with Myrrah because she is connected to her through a Hivemind. She was soon placed in a containment module where she would be in stasis and to allow Myrrah's abilities to be amplified through a brain-computer interference. She later produced the first Drones from the help of the scientists giving her Sire DNA and shared the same connection with Myrrah with Niles planning to create an army of the Locusts into obedient soldiers of the COG. Somepoint after Myrrah's newborn daughter, Reyna, was taken away by her father and Myrrah's uprising, the Matriarch remains in her module as she remains alive in stasis.

Gears 5

Decades after both the uprising and the Locust War, Myrrah uses the Matriarch to guide the Swarm and connect telepathically with her granddaughter, Kait Diaz, to send nightmarish messages to her for months which soon results to the death of her uncle, Oscar, at the South Village. As the result, Kait , Del and Jack go on a mission to find the answers about her connection to the Swarm and reach Mount Kadar Laboratory where they met up with the Niles AI of the laboratory and learned much about their origin. With Kait soon in the Matriarch's mind through the brain-computer interface, she follows Kait's movements then suddenly grabs and takes her to Reyna where she accidentally awakened her in the heart of the Hivemind, now under Myrrah's possession as Queen Reyna. She soon awakens and breaks free from her module after Niles betrayed Kait and Del and chases after them throughout the laboratory. She soon emerges out of the laboratory where she fully destroys the Niles AI and battles Kait and Del. Despite having aid from Queen Reyna to telepathically connect with Kait to distort her vision long enough to distract her from taking her down, she didn't back down as she ends her connection by shooting at the Matriarch's weak point, killing her.
