“ | Zane: Then by my observations, that was your own error. Working for a crime boss isn't a very reliable career choice. The Mechanic: By my observation, actions have consequences. And you have to pay. This Nindroid here, it's got spare parts. I could use a few in a place like this. |

The Mechanic is a supporting antagonist in the animated series, Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu, and a minor antagonist in Ninjago: Dragons Rising.
He is a well-known criminal who has served under Master Chen. Later, he was sent to Kryptarium prison and vows revenge on the Ninja. Eventually, he broke out alongside Ultra Violet in an attempt to rid the ninja but failed. He escaped again in hopes to free the mysterious Unagami from Prime Empire but got arrested again. A year later, he joined the Crystal King's council.
He is voiced by Michael Antonakos, while in Season 8: Sons of Garmadon, he was voiced by Alan Marriott (who also voiced Captain Soto in the same series).
Appearance[]
The Mechanic is a middle-aged man with brown teeth, a single yellowish-gold tooth, and a small black mustache. As shown in his anime-style version, his eyes are gray. He originally had dark circles under his eyes, cheekbones, and wrinkles on his face, but these lines have disappeared since the animation studio switched from WILFilm ApS to WildBrain. He always wears a black melon hat with a Nindroid mask with three blue lights to cover his eyes. These lights turn red in Sons of Garmadon and since Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu, he has a red belt on his hat. He also has a robotic arm in place of his left arm, which comes in two versions, regular or flamethrower.
When locked in the Kryptarium prison, he wears a plain white prison suit with stripes and gray pants. Unlike the other prisoners, his sleeve was torn. He has metal parts and cables on his suit that holds his robotic arm.
In his civilian clothes, he has a beige sweater covered with metal parts and cables that hold his robotic arm. He also has a long torn red coat, light gray pants, and since Secrets of the Forbidden Spinjitzu, he has started wearing gray shoes.
From the Crystalized episodes, "The Coming of the King", to "Dragon Form", the Mechanic's appearance changed after being empowered by the Overlord. The ribbon around his hat turns purple, along with his eye color. The lights on the Nindroid mask have turned purple, and his torso has been changed so that he wears the purple metal armor of the Crystal King's Council, although on the left side he retains the metal parts. and cables were there before, but the cables now glow purple-pink. He also has purple sleeves and infectious crystals on his shoulders, and black legs with a metallic gray print. His robotic arm has also been upgraded, featuring a black color and purple glowing parts. The shape of this has changed to a more rectangular type and it can fire darkness blasts. He returned to his original form after the Overlord was defeated.
Personality[]
The Mechanic can be described as a comically evil man with no known reason for his sadistic nature. He is well-known for always appearing as a threat but never a major one until Season 12: Prime Empire. His most notable trait though is his obsession with bionic parts. He takes extreme pride in his enhancements while also seeking more. He is not above torturing Zane or hurting innocent people in general.
In Season 15: Crystalized, he is shown to team up with other enemies of the Ninja in the Council of the Crystal King, including Pythor P. Chumsworth, Aspheera, Vangelis, and Mister F, and led by Harumi. While he works together with the Council in many occasions, at the same time he is involved in many of they’re arguments, such as mocking Aspheera and Vangelis in the sense of their former monarch heritages. He also heavily taunts and mocks Nya in the season, being the most directly antagonistic towards her in the season, mocking her for her lack of powers many times, up until being defeated by her and Okino by the season’s conclusion.
As revealed in Prime Empire Original Shorts, the Mechanic is sorrowful about losing his right arm and having to replace with his bionic-robo arm.

Trivia[]
- There is a popular fan theory that the Mechanic is one of Captain Soto's pirates due to the fact that his pre Season 11 face looks nearly identical to one of the pirates with Ninjago's co creator Tommy Andreasen implying it. However, with Soto not recognizing the Mechanic leaves this theory's plausibility unknown.
- His true name, along with how he lost his arm and right eye, is unknown.
- His minifigure has many inaccuracies compared to his appearance in the show:
- Instead of his Nindroid eye on his bowler hat, it is printed on his face.
- His robo-arm is a regular arm.
- His pants are grey with black boots while in the show they also have the ends of his red trench coat.
- He and Mister F are the only villains in Season 15: Crystalized to not be the main antagonists of their own season at any point. Yet, he was at least the secondary antagonist of Season 12: Prime Empire, making Mister F the least important villain of the season across the show’s run.
