The Missing Children are the secondary antagonists of the Five Nights at Freddy's film series, based on the video game franchise of the same name.
They are a set of five children who, similar to their video game counterparts, were murdered at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place by William Afton and eventually got stuffed in the suits of the animatronics, causing them to possess them.

- Freddy Fazbear was portrayed by Kevin Foster as an animatronic while his ghost kid is portrayed by Liam Hendrix.
- Bonnie the Bunny was portrayed by Jade-Kindar Martin as an animatronic while his ghost kid is portrayed by David Huston Doty.
- Chica the Chicken was portrayed by Jessica Weiss as an animatronic while her ghost kid is portrayed by Jophielle Love.
- Foxy the Pirate Fox was portrayed through puppetry as an animatronic by Russ Walko with Kellen Goff providing his voice while his ghost kid is portrayed by Asher Colton Spence.
- Mr. Cupcake was portrayed through puppetry as an animatronic by Brett O'Quinn.
- Golden Freddy was portrayed through puppetry as an animatronic by both Artie Esposito and Amanda Maddock while his ghost kid is portrayed by Grant Feely.
History[]
Five Nights at Freddy's (2023)[]
In similarity with their game counterparts, they were lured in by William Afton, who was dressed as Spring Bonnie and were killed in somewhere between 1987 and 1989. However, in contrast to the games, Blonde Girl (Chica) wasn't the first victim, it was Ghost Kid With Hook (Foxy). Three of the children were persuaded by William to follow him, while Ghost Kid With Hat (Freddy) was given a balloon and Ghost Kid With Bunny Ears (Bonnie) receiving a head-pat plus being the last victim unlike Blonde Boy (Golden Freddy) who was the fourth; this was all seen through 8-bit animation in the intro of the film. Vanessa also stated that their bodies were never found by the police at the time it happened, neither was her father being the one actually responsible for it.
They later appear when Mike dreamt of Garrett's kidnapping on Night 1 again, who saw what happened. But then, they ran away when Mike tried to approach them. The same thing happened the next night, but one of the children attacked him when he caught up. Once Mike was done with his shift, there was a scene with one of the kids luring Jeff, Max, Hank and Carl only for her to get bitten off by Freddy after the boy dragged her inside; due to this, Abby was introduced to them in Night 3. She also befriended them, although they still didn't trust Mike despite her telling them that he is her brother. As the animatronics on Night 4, they bonded with Abby, Mike and Vanessa by building a fort using tables but the girl accidentally got injured, so on Night 5, they appear in his dream with an alternative scenario where Garrett was never kidnapped and tell him that he could stay forever in exchange for Abby (which later happens to be a goal whilst being brainwashed by attempting to springlock her inside the Ella suit in reference to the books). However, Mike changed his mind after accepting their proposal and as a result, he got attacked by the children themselves. Ghost Kid With Hook gave him severe scars when it happened. Meanwhile with Blonde Boy, he killed Aunt Jane as Golden Freddy after he arrived at the Schmidt household and took Abby along with him; he hitched a ride with CoryXKenshin playing the taxi driver.
They eventually learn that the Yellow Rabbit they thought to be as their friend was the one who not only killed them, but also stuffed them and manipulated them to murder people which was never their intention. They finally turn against him thanks to Abby who drew him killing them as it brought back their memories, including their final moments once she showed it to them. They drag the dying Afton to the kitchen after Mr. Cupcake bit off a piece of his suit and in the bonus scene it is shown that Afton was left for dead while bleeding to death, all while Blonde Boy watched him until he shut the door.
Five Nights at Freddy's 2 (2025)[]
The Missing Children (excluding Golden Freddy) are set to appear in the upcoming sequel as Withered versions after they survived the collapse of the second restaurant, most likely serving as anti-heroes.

Under Afton's control, the ghost children are shown to be malicious but truly brainwashed, manipulated, and very tragic deceased young individuals throughout the film, taunting Mike in his dreams about trying to save Garrett due to their distrust towards him and slaughtering the vandals as the animatronics.
They are also shown to be vengeful towards William once they finally learnt the truth about themselves, which is foreshadowed earlier in the film that drawings give a powerful impact towards children before they can speak and this applies onto all of them. Even when one of them was trying to springlock Abby, they were truly friendly at the start in Night 3 when she finally showed up in the restaurant; the fort scene was a perfect example of the fact that the animatronics themselves are possessed by children, and some fans do tend to forget it.

Freddy Fazbear is the lead vocalist of the animatronic band on the showstage of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place as well as the pizzeria's titular mascot and based off the character of the same name from the video game franchise. Like his video game counterpart, he is a large animatronic brown teddy bear whose distinguishing features are a black bow tie and a top hat that he wears while possessed by a boy with dark brown hair, brown eyes and a white top hat, although most fans refer to him as Gabriel.
Bonnie the Bunny[]

Bonnie is the guitarist of the animatronic band on the showstage of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place and based off the character of the same name from the video game franchise. Like his video game counterpart, he is a tall animatronic blue bunny rabbit whose distinguishing feature is a red bow tie that he wears while possessed by a boy with black hair, brown eyes and a white headband with paper bunny ears, although most fans refer to him as Jeremy.
Chica the Chicken[]

Chica is the backup singer of the animatronic band on the showstage of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place and based off the character of the same name from the video game franchise. Like her video game counterpart, she is an animatronic food-themed yellow chicken whose distinguishing feature is a bib saying "Let's Eat!" that she wears while possessed by a girl with long blonde hair tied in pigtails, blue eyes and a cardboard bib, although most fans refer to her as Susie. Her companion is a small cupcake animatronic named Mr. Cupcake, whom she is able to command as she is capable of ordering him to attack her targets.
Foxy the Pirate[]

Foxy is the pirate entertainer of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place and based off the character of the same name from the video game franchise. Like his video game counterpart, he is a tattered animatronic pirate-themed red fox whose distinguishing features are an eye patch over his right eye, a sharp hook for his right hand, brown shorts and a mostly exposed endoskeleton while possessed by a boy with ginger hair, gray eyes, freckles and a cardboard hook, although most fans refer to him as Fritz.
Mr. Cupcake[]
Mr. Cupcake
Mr. Cupcake is Chica's loyal companion and minion who is usually accompanied by her and, unlike the games, he is shown to be mobile in the film and seems to have a mind of his own, whereas his video game counterpart is an inanimate object. He is a small cupcake animatronic prop whose distinguishing features are pink-frosting, two large eyes, a yellow-striped birthday candle with a vinyl candle-light, buck teeth, no wrapper, black eyelids and a row of sharp metal teeth on the inside of his mouth. Despite his small size, it is said that he is the most ferocious of the group. While the other animatronics have the minds of children, Mr. Cupcake is shown to have the mind of a vicious dog because of his feral and vicious personality. It is also implied that he is possessed by half of Chica's spirit, although most fans refer to him as the dog of Susie.
Golden Freddy[]
Golden Freddy
Golden Freddy is the leader of the other animatronics and based off the character of the same name from the video game franchise. Like his video game counterpart, he is a ghost-like animatronic with an appearance quite similar to that of Freddy Fazbear, though unlike the other animatronics, he doesn't appear to be part of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Place. He is possessed by a boy with blue eyes and blonde hair, although most fans refer to him as Cassidy.

- Numerous security guards - Killed by the animatronics in various methods under Afton's control over nearly two decades before the film's events, likely with the torture Freddy head.
- Bob (Security Guard) - Caught by Foxy, tied to a chair. and killed by the torture Freddy head (Under Afton's control).
- Carl - Ambushed by Chica and mutilated in the face by Mr. Cupcake (Under Afton's control).
- Hank - Beaten to death by Bonnie the Bunny (Under Afton's control).
- Jeff - Slashed to death by Foxy with his hook (Under Afton's control).
- Max - Bitten and split in half by Freddy (Under Afton's control).
- Jane Schmidt - Presumably killed in an unknown manner by Golden Freddy (Unlikely under Afton's control).
- William Afton - Mr. Cupcake bit a piece of the suit of the Yellow Rabbit, causing the springlocks to fail and penetrate into his body, slowly crushing and killing him inside (After freed from Afton's control).

Trivia[]
- Before the movie had released, a lot of speculation had surrounded around the animatronic's eye colors, with a theory proposing the yellow eyes meant that they are benevolent and/or are in security mode, while the red eyes indicated they are possessed by the missing children and/or are in attack mode.
- The red eyes became a source of controversy during its initial reveal, with the red eyes becoming an internet meme later on, with a running joke that the animatronics were smoking marijuana.
- It was stated at one point during the film's production that one of the animatronics' eyes twitched despite not being commanded to do so. This lead to some people joking that they were actually haunted.
- There are major differences between the games and the movie about The Missing Children.
- Some of the fans call the film's version of The Missing Children by the names they were given in the games: Gabriel (Freddy), Jeremy (Bonnie), Susie (Chica), Fritz (Foxy) and Cassidy (Golden Freddy).
- In the games, there were two female victims, but in the film, there is only one female which is obviously Chica's ghost kid.
- In the games, Chica's Ghost Kid is implied to be the first victim according to Withered Chica in Ultimate Custom Night, quoting that she was the first. However in the film, Foxy's Ghost Kid was the first victim.
- Golden Freddy's Ghost Kid is implied to be a girl in the games, but the Golden Freddy Ghost Kid in the film is a boy as based on the image of "The One You Shouldn't Have Killed" in UCN.
- Unlike in the games where Golden Freddy's Ghost Kid was the fifth and final victim, it's Bonnie's Ghost Kid who is the last victim in the film being lured by Spring Bonnie.
- Golden Freddy and Freddy's Ghost Kids are the only ones who spoke in the film, especially GF's Ghost Kid who spoke a lot.
- Golden Freddy's Ghost Kid is the only one who doesn't have any accessories bearing any resemblance to the animatronic he possesses likely to hide the twist that he's the spirit in Golden Freddy.
- It is theorized by some fans that Golden Freddy's Ghost Kid may either be related to the Schmidts or the Aftons. This theory can be supported by the fact that he somehow knew the whereabouts of Mike and Abby's house, and the fact that he knew Aunt Jane's name despite her not being mentioned in any of the dreams.
- According to the movie novelization, the souls of Bonnie and Foxy were going to be girls while Chica's soul was supposed to be a boy.
- There is a theory that the boy possessing Golden Freddy was actually aware the entire time since he didn't say that he is Golden Freddy to Abby when he got inside the Schmidt household, his face rarely blurring and him speaking the most out of all the five missing kids.
- Despite them being the antagonists to Mike (just like in the video game), they don't attempt to kill him until near the end of the film during the 5th Night, as most of their screen time with him revolves around them taunting Mike in his dreams about the true identity of his brother's killer or even having fun with him and Vanessa while Abby is around with them. However, Foxy did scratch Mike's arm during his dream sequence on the 2nd Night before Vanessa's first introduction and Freddy intimidatingly approaches Mike when they were introduced to Abby.
- Observant viewers will notice that the Missing Children never attempt to kill Mike until Abby scribbles him out of her drawings, this is likely due to Abby's drawings depicting him in a positive light, and only attacking after Abby says she hates Mike.
