The Mummy was a minor antagonist from the 1987 movie Monster Squad.
He was portrayed by Michael Reid MacKay, who also portrayed Theodore Victor Allen in Se7en, The Man Who Can't Breathe in Insidious: Chapter Three, the pre-mutation Bane in Batman & Robin, and Jason Stryker in X2: X-Men United.
History
The Mummy was part of an exhibit in an unknown American suburb. He escaped from the exhibit, much to the bewilderment of local authorities, when Dracula came to the area.
Later in the movie, he broke into Eugene's house (one of the members of the Monster Squad) and hid in his closet (much to the disbelief of his father). Later on, he tried to kill a group of children who were attempting to stop Dracula. He was on the back of a moving truck as the Monster Squad drove off to stop Dracula and attempted to kill them, however his bandages were pinned to a tree with an arrow by Rudy, and his decrepit, rotten body shattered into dust as the bandages were torn off.
Trivia
- Given all the monsters in The Monster Squad are homages to the Universal Monsters, this incarnation of the mummy seems to be a homage to Kharis- being a silent brute wrapped in bandages (the most popular and well known version), as opposed to Imhotep, who was only seen in his bandages for one scene and was overall and intellectual lich as opposed to a mindless zombie-like creature.
