The Order of the Twelve is a mysterious group of aliens in the Netflix animated series Final Space. They are minor antagonists in Season 1 and 2.
History[]
The Order of the Twelve can be located on the Planet Yarno, a planet renowned for its viciousness. The group consists of large entities whose signature traits are their utter lack of eyes or let alone facial features. Dubbed the "eyes of the universe," the Order of the Twelve is introduced in Chapter 3 when the Lord Commander visits them in order to obtain some information on Mooncake. He is not too soon met by one of the Helpers, Helper Hula. Hula informs him that because he had continually misused his "light," he was slowly disintegrating. Lord Commander angrily states that he knew this fact, but when Hula recommended that he be "patient" regarding his dilemma, he uses his telepathic powers to forcibly destroy all eight of Helper Hula's eyeballs before threatening to "finish the job" if Hula were to fail at this endeavor.
When Avocato insists to Gary that they hide Mooncake at Yarno, they are met by one of the lesser Helpers termed Helper Stevil. Just as they realized that the Order of the Twelve was working with the Lord Commander, Stevil traps them in a surrealistic labyrinth that manifests anything that is thought of. Stevil takes Mooncake and places him in a Coliseum known as Deathcropolis where he is made to fight to the death with extraterrestrial beasts. It is also hinted that the Order of the Twelve conduct a religion in which they revere the Titans, eldritch abominations that exist within the realm of Final Space. This is seen through them overseeing death battles. Those that are killed in the battle are offered as sacrifices to the Titans.
Eventually, the Lord Commander arrives and attempts to obtain Mooncake once again only to be stopped by the Galaxy One. This culminates in the utter devastation of Deathcropolis; whether or not the Order of the Twelve was decimated alongside the Coliseum is unknown.
In Season Two, Helper Hula appears in a flashback where she shows the Lord Commander a clue on how to get to Final Space, according to Avocato, the Order of the Twelve apparently had some level of control over that planet.
