| ~ The Painter when the players survive an attack. |
Z-779, also known as the Painter and formerly known as the p.AI.nter, is the main antagonist of the Roblox horror game Pressure.
It is a former sentient artificial intelligence drawing companion that was later forced to mine cryptocurrency for Urbanshade. It is now allied with Sebastian Solace to escape the Hadal Blacksite.
It is voiced by Artydoesstuff, who also voiced Pal Percy from Playtime with Percy.
Appearance[]
The Painter resembles a doodle of a face inside an art program. It usually makes psychotic and maniacal smiles and angry expressions. While normally appearing on a computer, it can also appear on doors after it successfully tricks a player into running into a door which contains The Mask Of Sadness.
Personality[]
The Painter appears to switch between being good and being evil, sometimes telling the players that it doesn't intend on killing them but other times it fully intends on harming and possibly even killing them. The Painter is a tragic machine, only desiring to escape Urbanshade and make art, and is only delaying the players on Sebastian's orders, although it seems to have its fun causing harm to the players.
The reason for its unstable personality is because it was overclocked from crypto mining that his personality drivers malfunctioned.
Mechanic[]
The Painter's voice will come through the intercom which will serve as a warning for an incoming attack from Eyefestation or from The Mask Of Sadness. In the latter's case, it will attempt to make the players walk through the wrong door and will mock the player's foolishness for falling for it. In the former's case, it will sometimes trap the player inside of a room with a window with an enraged Eyefestation. This occurrence is called a Gauntlet.
The Painter will also attack using turrets, which will fire if the player is detected by its lasers. The players must deactivate the turret system by switching a lever in a Breaker Box in order to turn off the threat, and the Painter will complain about the player not being fun or about Sebastian not being able to free them all if they keep getting in the way. The player must avoid the turrets' lights using cover and hiding spots, such as lockers. A turret will retreat back into its place if it runs out of ammo, taking five seconds to reload. The player can use this time to escape.
"Stick To The Script" Ending[]
In the room where the Painter can be found at, the player can additionally find a keycard to unlock the door and gain access to the cell it is located behind. The player is then given the choice to "rescue" the Painter and if selected, responds by smashing its monitor to kill it. The Painter during this duration panics when the player gets closer to it, though one of the potential dialogue pieces it has instead taunts them. Sebastian Solace overhears this through its handheld transceiver and quickly make his way to the room to discover the destroyed Painter, and later confronts the player at the Ridge to avenge it, thus initiating the secret ending.
Trivia[]
- It is most likely inspired by SCP-079.
- The Painter can apologize if the player dies to The Mask Of Sadness attack.
