Eric and his unnamed assistant, together known as The Paramedics, are two paramedics and minor antagonists of the 1983 film Monty Python's The Meaning of Life.
Eric was portrayed by the late Graham Chapman, who also portrayed Mr. Neutron in Monty Python's Flying Circus, the middle head of the Three-Headed Giant and God in Monty Python and the Holy Grail and Biggus Dickus in Monty Python's Life of Brian, and his unnamed assistant was portrayed by John Cleese, who also played the High Priest in Monty Python's Life of Brian, the French Taunter and The Black Knight in Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Mungo the Cook, The Customer, The Robber and the Narrator of "How Not to be Seen" in Monty Python's Flying Circus.
Personalities[]
Not much is known about the duo's personality, but it is implied that both of them are somewhat sociopathic, as they give little care to killing an innocent married couple by ripping their organs out of their bodies.
Biography[]
In Part V of the film, titled "Live Organ Transplants", the two visit an organ donor and perform live organ surgery on him with his family walking by without a care. While Eric performs the surgery, his assistant asks his wife if they could also do surgery on her, to which "The Man in Pink" sings a song to her about how little we really matter in the wide universe, to which Mrs. Brown then consents to them killing and mutilating her.
