~ The Ringmaster |
The Ringmaster is a villain from the YTV animated series, Sidekick. He is an evil circus ringmaster, who hypnotizes superheroes and villains and has them do shows for him. He is also a midget who gets very cranky, when people make fun of his height. He appeared in "Circus Jerkus".
Biography[]
In "Circus Jerkus", the sidekicks went to The Greatest Circus in the Universe, where The Ringmaster showed up as the host and presented a series of crazy performers, including Silly Gorilla, Frizzo the Clown, and The Great Trapezeus, all of which looked eerily familiar to Eric. After the show, The Ringmaster lured superhero team, The Rainbros, who were granted with front row seats, to a special meet and greet backstage. Eric was so jealous that the superheros got to get special treatment like this.
After the show, when the sidekicks were trying to go home, Trevor snuck backstage to get an inside look at the cool stuff that he was missing out on. Eric tried going after him to stop him but Trevor got himself into a clown car, pressed a button in it, and activated a giant boxing glove to punch Eric out. Eric then saw the performers from the circus show backstage. He tried to talk to Frizzo the Clown, but he was strangely unresponsive. After doing some more observing, Eric witnessed The Ringmaster with The Rainbros. The Ringmaster used his weird-looking sick to hypnotize The Rainbros into becoming his slaves. He also saw that Frizzo the Clown and The Great Trapezeus had kidnapped Trevor, Kitty, and Vana. It took Eric a while but he eventually figured out that The Ringmaster was kidnapping and enslaving various supers and sidekicks. He also put together that Silly Gorilla was Uni-Cyclops, Frizzo the Clown was Static Clint, and The Great Trapezeus was Arachni-Thumb. However, by the time Eric figured this out, The Ringmaster found him and had him kidnapped and hypnotized too but not before Eric made a mean joke about him being tiny, leading to The Ringmaster breaking down in tears and running away.
Trevor Troublemeyer ended up being the only person who was immune to The Ringmaster's hypnotism, on account of him being too stupid to be brainwashed. Trevor took it upon himself to free up Eric from his trance so that they two could defeat The Ringmaster but not before Eric first got a funny picture of Vana and Kitty cleaning the toilets, while hypnotized. Eric and Trevor then broke into The Ringmaster's headquarters on a unicycle and further bashed him for his height. Fed up with the short jokes, The Ringmaster used his hypno-sock to summon his amy of newly-enslaved minions to fight Eric and Trevor, only for them to easily escape through the door, since nobody bad the idea to block it, much to The Ringmaster's annoyance. The Ringmaster had all of the hypnotized heroes (and villains) chase Eric and Trevor around the circus. Ultimately, Eric and Trevor tried hiding out in a pool of water and got shocked to death by Static Clint, who later revived them in The Ringmaster's grasp.
The Ringmaster hypnotized Eric once again but just like before, Trevor was immune to the brain waves. Trevor got back into the clown car from before again and used the giant boxing glove to punch out The Ringmaster, this time, finally defeating him and breaking everyone else out of their trance. The Ringmaster ran toward Trevor to try and beat him up. Trevor put his hand on The Ringmaster's head and held him in place, while he started swinging at nothing until he got all tuckered out.
Now that The Ringmaster was defeated, Eric and Trevor told the heroes and villains that they were free to go, (although they probably shouldn't have been doing this with the villains). Static Clint admitted that minus the hypnotism, he actually kind of enjoyed being in the circus and the others agreed with him. The promised to help out The Ringmaster with his circus in the future just like before just as long as he didn't hypnotize them. The Ringmaster agreed, until they said that this would also require him to pay them. With this, The Ringmaster stuck out his hypno-sock and hypnotized everyone again.
