Chauncey is a mischievous and malevolent member of the trio. He has a more off-kilter, aesthetic personality than his two friends and is shown to be zany and outrageous, as his eyes spin wildly.
Biography[]
When Elder Kettle breaks his back and gets some rest, Cuphead and Mugman are forced to watch after his garden until he gets better in the morning. However, they hear some noises coming from the shed, when they saw a trio of rotten vegetables feasting on their soil supply. They lie to the boys that they're orphans and will take care of Elder Kettle's garden while the boys go out for more trouble. Suddenly, they break the deal by using their yard for a party with other vegetables when the boys come home.
The two brothers try various attempts to get all the partygoing vegetables out of their yard by posing as scarecrows, calling the police, and forcing the morning sun to come sooner when the party's over, but all these were no to avail at the same time. The brothers then come up with a sob story which makes an easily intoxicated Ollie burst into tears, causing his skin to peel and emit a potent stench that effectively drives the party out of the yard in tears.
At first, Cuphead and Mugman’s plan works, but in retaliation to the party being crashed, the three vegetables come together to sap the remaining moister from Elder Kettle’s plants, causing them to dry up and die. Elder Kettle comes out to find The Root Pack larger than ever from the overabundance of water and miraculously mistakes them for his own plants. At first, the Root Pack are happy with the misconception, presumably planning to use this as a form of manipulation. However, Elder Kettle then takes out a larger pot to make his famous stew out of them, which leads to the terrified veggie gang fleeing the yard into the hills.
