The Sangs are the main antagonists of the 2012 action film The Expendables 2.

They are a notorious faction of terroristic mercenaries led by international war criminal Jean Vilain.

History[]

Decades after he was born in 1960, notorious war criminal and international terrorist leader Jean Vilain created a group of infamous mercenaries known as "The Sangs" to help with his plans for world domination. Thereafter the Sangs became a highly dangerous threat to the world as they would go on to perpetuate fear, havoc and violence all over Albania and other countries. It was around that point that Vilain's right-hand man, Hector, became the organization's second-in-command.

Soon enough, Vilain discovered a huge amount of precious plutonium grade which weights 6 pounds at an abandoned Albanian mine. He then led the Sangs to kidnap numerous children and men in Albania so they would work in the mines in order to find the grade. The Sangs thereupon resolved to force the workers to uncover numerous amounts of plutonium, after which Vilain would then transform it to nuclear weapons in order to sell them to the highest bidders across the globe - henceforth enriching himself and the Sangs as the most dangerous threats to the world.

Eventually, they came into conflict with an elite group of mercenaries known as The Expendables when the latter party was sent by their CIA contact Church to investigate the former's illict activities. The Sangs ended up capturing Billy "The Kid" Timmons, a young sniper and the Expendables' newest recruit, to force his teammates to surrender their weapons to him. Afterwards, Vilain killed Billy and departed with his mercenaries; Billy's death left the Expendables swearing vengeance on Vilain and vowing to eradicate the Sangs at all costs.

From then onwards, the Expendables had numerous confrontations with the Sangs and managed to kill them off whilst attempting to find Vilain. Later on Vilain found the plutonium he needed, and so authorized the Sangs to abandon the workers at the mine with the intention of leaving them to die or executing them. However, the Expendables rescued the workers and they killed all the Sang members who were preparing to execute them. Vilain and Hector managed to escape with the remaining Sang members to an airport, but the Expendables pursued them and a gunfight ensued between the two parties.

In the end, the Expendables won and they defeated the Sangs by killing all the remaining members; in the ensuing battle Hector is killed by the Expendables' second-in-command Lee Christmas, whereas the Expendables leader Barney Ross ends up killing Vilain in a hand-to-hand confrontation - thus avenging Billy's death at last.
