The Serpent is a minor antagonist in the manga/anime series Record of Ragnarok.

He is the main antagonist of Adam's Flashback during the Second Round of the Ragnarok Tournament.

The Serpent is a Demon who lives in Valhalla and who tried to make Eve his, but having failed, he convinced the Gods that she ate the forbidden fruit and had her kicked out of Valhalla.

He is voiced by Bumper Robinson, who has also voiced Blitzwing and Waspinator in Transformers: Animated, Anagan in Winx Club and Slipstream and Royce Axelrod in Static Shock, in the English dubbed version of the anime adaptation. It is unknown who voiced him in the Japanese edition, as he was not credited.

Appearance[]

The Serpent is a tall, thin snake-like humanoid being. He has long black hair and five streaks of hair on his chin. Its face has a wide mouth from which two fangs protrude, and it has almond-shaped eyes. He wears a black suit, with a medallion-like object over his tie, and a scarf whose design resembles a snake's skin.

Personality[]

The Serpent is a cowardly being who lets himself be carried away by his instincts, to the point of having succumbed to lust and trying to make Eve his own, and when he was rejected he let himself be consumed by anger, accusing her before the Gods of having eaten the forbidden fruit to get her expelled from Valhalla. He even tried to kill Adam while consumed with rage. Because of this, The Serpent is an individual who is willing to do the most despicable deeds to get what he wants.

Biography[]

The Serpent is a Demon who lives in Valhalla. Here he tries to rape Eve in the Garden of Eden, but thanks to some birds the woman manages to escape from his clutches and The Serpent, enraged, decides to make her pay by taking a bite of the forbidden fruit, the apple, and bringing her before the court of the Gods. The Serpent accuses Eve of eating the apple and shows bogus evidence, causing Eve to be sentenced to exile on Earth.

Immediately afterwards Adam intervenes who, having learned of what has happened, takes several apples to court and eats them in front of everyone, deciding to be exiled together with Eve. The Serpent attacks the two angrily after reaching his true form, but Adam, knowing what he had tried to do to Eve, uses his Divine Reflection to copy The Serpent's claws and kill him by cutting him into many pieces.

Powers and Abilities[]

Supernatural strength: Being a Demon, The Serpent possesses strength, agility and endurance far superior to those of ordinary Humans, although not enough to be able to defeat Adam, the first of Humans. Furthermore, as a Demon, The Serpent does not age or feel the passage of time.

Arm Stretching: The Serpent is able to move freely and to stretch his arm, with which he tried to subdue Eve.

Transformation: When he transforms into his true form, The Serpent becomes a snake-like creature (but with arms and legs) and grows in size. While in this form, it uses its very sharp claws, as those copied from Adam managed to cut through its flesh and bones, to attack.
