The Set is a terrorist organization which serves as the main antagonistic faction in Mistborn era 2, by Brandon Sanderson. It was founded by Telsin Ladrian in attempt to control Elendel and the rest of Scadrial so that it wouldn't be destroyed by Autonomy.
History[]
The Set was founded by Telsin, who was working with Autonomy. She recruited her uncle, Edwarn Ladrian, to help run The Set. Part of the goals of The Set were to breed Allomancers. Edwarn had Miles Hundredlives kidnap allomancers. THey were kept in an underground cavern and told they were the last survivors on an apocalypse.
Later, The Set sought to retrieve the Bands of Mourning. They captured a Malwish airship which was also seeking the Bands. They captured and tortured the members to learn about their technology. Waxillium Ladrian managed to retrieve the Bands and stop the Set from obtaining them. Edwarn Ladrian was captured, so Autonomy had him killed. Telsin managed to convince Autonoy to give The Srt another chance to control Scadrial.
They managed to take control of the ciyo of Bilming. They also managed to develop a weapon of mann destruction known as a Trellium-Harmonium bomb. Their goal was to impress Autonomy by using this bomb to destroy Elendel. Wax and Wayne managed to disarm the bomb, and Autonomy decided to leave Scadrial. The Set was disbanded shortly afterwards.
