The Singing Clergyman is a character and urban legend created by Canadian horror artist Trevor Henderson. It is an enigmatic automaton with mysterious origins, made by a man named Robert Lowhill-Gaunt.
Appearance[]
The Singing Clergyman is a humanoid automaton. He wears a long, white clergy robe that covers his whole body except for his white, humanoid hands.
The Singing Clergyman's neck consists of a long, black, mechanical, two jointed appendage that has many black wires wrapped around them. Appendage connects to the lower part of a face that consists of two cheeks, nose, mouth and chin. Face has a pale skin and cracks on it. Inside of the gaping mouth there are sets of teeth. A black liquid drips down his mouth and down his neck.
Biography[]
In 1954, a man named Robert Lowhill-Gaunt, made The Singing Clergyman. It was an unfinished automaton and Robert was "aiting for "the last message" from "the aether" to add "God's eyes" and complete the robot. A month after taking a picture with his family and the automaton, him and his family mysteriously goes missing.
After the disappearance of Robert Lowhill-Gaunt, in 1984 two teenage urbex explorers discovered it inside of a hidden room in The Church of The Benevolent Sound in Claremont, Ohio. It is said that the Clergyman's voice was like "nothing they have heard before". After their encounter, they suffered insomnia, diffulty at concentrating and a desperate need to hear the voice again. The Singing Clergyman couldn't be located after the encounter.
Behavior[]
Not much is known about behavior of The Singing Clergyman. It is only known that it sings what assumed to be holy chanting while wandering around what assumed to be churches. It is unknown if it was his doing, but he is tied to the family of Robert going missing.
