The Skull is a supporting antagonist in the 1983 film Scarface and a minor antagonist in the 2006 video game Scarface: The World Is Yours.

He is a mute gunman and the right-hand man for drug kingpin Alejandro Sosa, serving as his chief assassin and professional hitman to date.

He was portrayed by the late Geno Silva, who has also portrayed Memo Lucero in A Man Apart.

History[]

Scarface[]

The Skull is a professional hitman who began working for drug kingpin, Alejandro Sosa, at an unknown stage but ended up becoming his chief henchmen and personal assassin. His real name is never given and he has no on-screen dialogue.

He is apparently nicknamed by his gaunt face and he always wears large, circular, dark sunglasses, giving his face the appearance of a skull which is his assassin trademark.

He executed Omar Suárez by throwing him off Sosa's chopper (thus hanging him) and also killed Nick the Pig by blowing his head off with a 12 gauge double-barreled shotgun, before killing Tony Montana from behind.

Scarface: The World is Yours[]

The Skull makes a brief appearance in the quasi-sequel game Scarface: The World Is Yours, where like in the film, he tries to sneak behind Tony and kill him. If the player does not pay attention to their backward surroundings, they will take damage from the Skull's shotgun until the player's health reaches 0, triggering a cutscene that resembles the ending of the movie in which Tony is blasted downstairs into his mansion's fountain. However, in order to proceed into the game's storyline, the player must turn around and kill the Skull.

Victims[]

  • Omar Suárez - Hanged from a helicopter by noose.
  • Nick the Pig - Shot in the back of the head with a double-barreled shotgun by The Skull.
  • Tony Montana - Shot from behind with a shotgun by The Skull. (Movie Only)
    • Total - 3

Trivia[]

  • Taste of Cinema's Dan Carmody chose The Skull as the 7th greatest henchman in movie history.
  • While The Skull uses a double-barreled shotgun as his primary weapon in the film, he instead uses a pump-action shotgun in the video game, likely because the former weapon does not exist as a usable gun in-game.
