Trivia[]
- The Spirit is one of two characters in Friday Night Funkin' to not use the game's art-style (sharing this with the Senpai), instead using a sprite-based art style.
- The Spirit is one of four characters to not have a danger icon, with the others ironically all being related to him, with these being Girlfriend, Daddy Dearest, and Senpai.
- During a Twitch stream, when asked if Senpai or Daddy Dearest will ever receive a losing icon, PhantomArcade responded by stating he didn't even realizing that they lacked any, and made a note to create some for them later. As of the Pitstop 2 update, Senpai and Spirit now currently have danger icons.
- In a sketch drawn by Phantom Arcade, the Spirit is complaining that he hasn't "jerked off in 14 years" to Boyfriend. While not confirmed, this could be how long he's been trapped in the game.
- It was long believed that The Spirit and Senpai were one in the same and that he was the one possessing Senpai. This was later deconfirmed by PhantomArcade, who stated the two were separate beings and Senpai was merely a videogame character unrelated to Spirit. Despite this, however, the two characters use the same exact voice sample.
