The Stranger is a monster and urban legend created by Canadian artist, Trevor Henderson, in May 2021.

Appearance

The Stranger is a tall, slender figure with a large head, which in reality is a warped, pale-ish mask with huge eyes, and small ears. Although the Stranger's actual face was never revealed, in an artwork, we presumably get a look at his teeth, which appear to be sharp and inhuman. All of his body is covered in a black cloak without a hood.

Behavior

The Stranger causes people in malls or department stores to get lost by inducing vertigo on them and keeping them inside. In general, the origins and motives of this creature are unknown. According to the tweet, The Stranger was seen in an empty furniture store following a person, presumably stalking the lost wanderer.

Personality

The Stranger seems to think he works at the stores he stalks his victims at. He was labeled as a "Patron Saint of getting lost in sprawling department stores and malls, and of those that would like you to stay that way." Furthermore, he keeps his victims in the buildings he occupies by inducing vertigo, causing them to become lost, and disoriented. He doesn't like when he gets hit with objects, and the sight of his targets leaving the premises.

• When a user said that they would chuck a bulk can of beans at it, Trevor said that The Stranger will remember that.
• He walks with his head heavy on top, swaying side to side like "little people on top of each other".
• When someone asked "Is this the little jerk that would give me deathly vertigo at the tops of escalators?", Trevor confirmed it by saying "Oh Absolutely".
