Doug Summers and Chris Dubasage, better known as The Sweet Sixteen Killer, are the main antagonists of the 2023 American comedy slasher film Totally Killer. Their title is a moniker given to a villainous persona.

He was an infamous serial killer who brutally butchered three young girls by fatally stabbing them sixteen times using a hunting knife in 1987. Since all of the three victims were also sixteen years old, the media gave the attacker the moniker of the Sweet Sixteen Killer.

35 years later after the fact, the killer claims the life of Jamie Miller's mother and she travels back in time to find out who he is and prevent all the murders from happening.

Doug Summers was portrayed by Nathaniel Appiah as a teenager and by Conrad Coates as an adult. Chris Dubasage was portrayed by Nicholas Lloyd as a teenager and by Jonathan Potts as an adult. In-costume scenes as The Sweet Sixteen Killer were portrayed by Adrian Persad.

Biography[]

Original Murderer[]

The costume was first used by young Doug Summers in the year of 1987 to murder a group of four girls known as The Mollys (a moniker they got because they like to dress as Molly Ringwald) composed by Tiffany Clark, Marisa Song, Heather Hernandez and Pam Miller. Doug was furious at the girls because they were involved in the death of Trish, the only person he ever fell in love with.

Because of rumours involving Trish having sex with Coach Zane, the group invited her over to a sleepover and got her really drunk in order to make her confess. However, this turned out to be a very bad move as a drunken and upset Trish locks herself up in Tiffany's room and then tries to drive in her car back home, resulting in a fatal car crash. Doug heard about this and began his revenge plot.

On October 27 of 1987, Tiffany would get brutally murdered at her own garage. Marisa and Heather would follow in a span of four days. Because all of the three girls got stabbed sixteen times and were sixteen years old, the media dubbed the culprit The Sweet Sixteen Killer. Since Pam wasn't in the sleepover because she got into a fight with Tiff, Doug decided to spare her and then went on with his life with his vengeance fulfilled.

The Return of the Killer[]

The grisly nature of the murders shaked the once peaceful town of Vernon. The legend of the killer would live on to be a main attraction in the town for many years, but the interest started to slowly fade away.

Chris Dubasage was an amateur crime journalist who always lived by the shadow of his own father, news reporter and awarded journalist Norm Dubasage. The story of the Sweet Sixteen Killer was the only thing that kept Chris' career on float, since he covered it on a podcast of average success. He would then decide to keep the story alive by murdering Pam Miller at her own place, and then try to murder her sixteen-year-old daughter Jamie while sporting the costume used by the original killer.

Unfortunately for him, his attack triggered a time travel machine built by Jamie's best friend Amelia Creston which sent her back in time to October 27 of 1987, the day the original murder spree started. Jamie takes this chance to prevent the murders from happening and save the life of her mother.

Traveling to the Past[]

While Jamie is in 1987, her disappearance spark some worry from the authorities. Joe attempted to explain that she traveled to the past, but no one believed her. Chris having overheard her story, took an interest and managed to insert himself into Amelia’s confidence claiming he was in contact with Pam in order to find who the Sweet Sixteen Killer was. Having collected the information from the previous murders, Chris noticed that some information on the death of Tiffany was contrary to what he remembered. At first Amelia thought it was the Mandela Effect, the phenomenon of having false memories. But when taking into account that Jamie had traveled back to 1987, Amelia realized that her best friend was changing the past. Faced with this knowledge Chris realized that Amelia’s story was true.

He assisted Amelia in creating a second time machine to travel back to the past. However when. It was ready, he incapacitated the girl and stole the Time Machine. Donning the original mask of the Sweet Sixteen Killer Chris arrived to the amusement park where Jamie and her Allie succeeded in killing and unmasking Doug, who tried to murder Heather. However Christ shortly then killed Heather ensuring that the murders of the three Mollies remained a part of history. He then pursued Jamie and Amelia’s mother, Tiffany to the Quantum Drop, which they converted to a time machine to send Jamie back to the present. On the way Chris brutally stalled his own father in the head whilst was filming the events. Reaching the Quantum Drop, alone with Jamie, he revealed himself and the reason why he murdered Pam in order to keep the myth of the Sweet Sixteen Killer alive. In a fight, Pam boarded the machine and saved Jamie, though was injured but managed to survive after she exited the ride. Jamie managed to activate the machine, which caused it to travel to the future, and incidentally killing Chris.

Due to the changes made by Jamie and Chris a new timeline was created. In the new one the Chris from 1987 having been traumatized by the death of his father, went to become a monk in India. Tiffany who was aware that Chris was the murderer of Pam in the old timeline, kept tabs on him out of safety.
