The Tetracide is the main antagonist of Absolute Wonder Woman's first arc, The Last Amazon.
It is a monstrous, ancient and mythological abomination that lives in the sea and has the combined forms of a insect and a cephalopod. A monster with the ability to emit a sound that erases the fear of all that hear it and makes them come to its jaws, it is the leader of the Harbingers that attacked Gateway City and the first main enemy Diana battled in her first outing as superhero.
Appearance[]
The Tetracide is a skyscrapper sized monster with tarantula-like legs, a crustacean facial structure and an abdomen that is open and reveals several octopus-like tentacles. It has eyes, though they are minuscule unless one comes real close to its face.
Biography[]
It sent its Harbingers to Gateway City's beach, possibly under the orders of another creature or god. As Diana, Last of the Amazons, defeated them and the "Prime", their leader, they retreated, informing the Tetracide of their defeat and Diana's threats should they ever come back. Soon enough, the Tetracide itself emerged from within the waters of the Ocean and marched towards Gateway City.
Diana attacked it, but didn't manage to deal enough damage before retreating. She loses an arm that was actually a magical construct to escape its tentacles, while Pegasus, her steed, burned the Tetracide with its fire. The Tetracide's signature ability of making people commit suicide by willingly coming to it without fear failed, as Diana used a spell to deafen the city of Gateway temporarily.
As Diana comes fight it once again, she still finds herself physically outmatched, but manages to use her transmutation lasso to turn herself into a Gorgon and use the petrication sight to turn the Tetracide into stone. Soon after, she attacked it and shattered the monster, ending its reing of terror.
