Biography[]
In December 1995, The Torch robs the token booth at Folton Street subway station and lights it on fire, trapping the attendant. New York City transit officers John and Charlie Robinson rush to the woman's aid while Grace Santiago chases down the Torch, who ultimately manages to escape.
Later, a sting operation is conducted in Queens subway station to arrest the Torch with Grace posing as a ticket attendant. During the operation, the Torch kills a man by throwing him in front of a passing subway train. Charlie alerts and makes his presence known, forcing him and John to chase the Torch outside. During the chase, Charlie fires a warning shot into the air, scaring a horse as it runs towards two kids crossing the road, forcing Charlie to abandon the chase and save them.
John chases the Torch into 5th Avenue subway station and searches the tunnel for him. The Torch then catches John by surprise and hits him with a metal bar before the two men fight with the Torch spraying gas on the tracks. John slams the bar on the gas trail, causing it to ignite and set the Torch on fire. As the Torch is burning alive, he is hit by a passing subway train, killing him.
