The Unborn is one of the main antagonists in the Bloody Roar videogame series. It is demonic spirit that is unable to evolve into any life forms. Its main goal to bring chaos and the reign of terror into the world. Despite no having much power in the real world, The Unborn uses Xion as its host through his power and promises. It made its debut in Bloody Roar 3.

History

Past

The nameless creature represents all the life forms that are unable to evolve into any selection of species and any future life forms who will be born through existence yet. Gaia confined The Unborn into another dimension. The Unborn was sealed in the Tabula of a Thousand Beasts, being sealed by the Sign of the Beast (X-Genome Code).

Bloody Roar 3

Since its debut, The Unborn uses Xion as its vessel or host to kill many Zoanthropes, who became the bearers of the Sign of the Beast, by making him the promising choice to make the flawless trivial world. Once, Xion is destined to kill all of the Zoanthropes. Xion can channel and revive the power of The Unborn to take over the planet.

To help him, The Unborn gives Xion, demonic Unborn form, his demonic Beast Form is based on the traits of mantis and cockroach.

Despite his strength, Xion was defeated and the Tabula of a Thousand Beasts was destroyed by Yugo Ogami to prevent the revival of the Unborn.

Bloody Roar 4

After the Tabula Incident, Nagi Kirishima successfully survived being killed and wounded by Xion. Nagi Kirishima's life was cost to allow the power of The Unborn by influencing and fusing her. Nagi obtained the Spurious Beast Form. During the time of Bloody Roar 4, Nagi Kirishima was able to free herself from the Unborn's influence by defeating Xion.

In Xion's ending, Xion and Nagi nearly weakend the Dragon; suddenly, they are freed. They united their powers and strengths to shatter The Unborn, thus ending its reign of terror once and for all.

In Nagi's ending, Nagi Kirishima was able to destroy The Unborn with the help of Yugo Ogami and his allies.

After the events of the series, The Unborn was finally destroyed forver.

Powers and Abilities

• Demon Physiology - The Unborn with this ability either is or can transform into a demon, an evil spirit, fallen angel or Satanic divinity. Most commonly user retains their general form but with some additions; horns, claws, fangs and tail are common, as are wings, more fit (muscular and/or larger) body and color change (red, blue or black dominate) but there are several kinds of demons who are far less humanoid, varying from strange, surreal or even absolutely horrific.

For practical reasons demons can be divided into three groups defined by what they are formed from:

• • Physical Demons aren't necessarily solid matter, but they are material/energy beings with relatively defined/stable form and often at least somewhat human-like mind. Most users that aren't originally of demonic stock have this variation. Note that demons of this group aren't necessarily any weaker than those of the other groups, they are simply more "solid" in mind and body.
  • Spiritual Demons are completely spiritual beings, and thus far less bound to the laws of physics or single form. Many of them think in ways that are only tangentially relatable to humans, and their forms are both transient and often downright surreal.
  • Nether Demons are often both the most powerful and ancient demons, in some ways closer to sentient concepts than anything else. As such, relating to them in any way is likely impossible.
• Evil Embodiment - The user of this power is or can become the embodiment of evil and can manipulate everything evil, including having all evil powers and power over evil beings, places and events (The user literally become a force of nature). Examples include using weather to destroy towns, cursing people to induce horrifying effects, physically and psychologically torturing people, inducing sins, etc. The user can also do things like shapeshifting into a chaotic monster and do almost anything as long as it ensures death, destruction or pain on the victims. The user of this power is incredibly powerful because of the limitless capabilities and the fact that there is evil in almost every place. The user cannot be "killed" and can exist anywhere, but their existence is far stronger in some places than others as long as the place isn't overrun by a good embodiment user. By nature somebody must always possess this power as evil has existed since the beginning of time and without evil, there cannot be any good. Advanced users may also be able to possess people and other supernatural beings and give them some power. This is known to some as Demonic Empowerment. More advanced abilities include not only the ability to possess people, but also to possess land, objects and flora to manipulate the surroundings.
