The Underminer is a villain that appeared at the very last minute in the Pixar movie, The Incredibles. He is then the main villain as well as the final boss in the subsequent video game; The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer which is somewhat close to being a sequel to the movie.
The Underminer is voiced by Pixar's good luck charm John Ratzenburger, who has played a character in every Pixar movie. Such as Hamm in the Toy Story movies and his villain counterpart the evil Dr. Porkchop, P.T. Flea in A Bug's Life and Earl in The Good Dinosaur.
Movie
Three Months after The Parrs have beated syndrome, The Underminer appears at the end of the movie, where he announces his "war on peace and happiness!" The Parr family then put on their masks, ready for battle. This led to such a cliffhanger that the creators of the original Incredibles video game created the sequel, The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer.
Gameplay
As the Underminer orders killer robots to rage war on Metroville, Helen, Violet, Dash and Jack-Jack fight off the surface invasion and Mr. Incredible and Frozone follow the Underminer into the depths of his underground city. The Underminer plans are revealed; to activate a machine called the Magnomizer, which would pollute the Earth above. The two super-heroes manage to destroy the machine, and the Underminer, ending his war and minions before it began.
Trivia
- The Underminer is strongly based on the Fantastic 4 villain known as the Mole Man. They both live underground, have an outright hatred of humanity, and they both have a physical resemblance of a mole, especially the Underminer's nose.
