“ | BOW DOWN BEFORE YOUR LORD, THE VURM. Where am I by the way? This doesn't look like the nuclear caverns- IT DOESN'T MATTER. BREEAAATHE DEEPLY. | „ |
~ The Vurm's introduction. |
The Vurm is a minor antagonist in The Hex. He is a supporting antagonist in Waste World and a minor character in Vicious Galaxy 2.
Personality[]
The Vurm frequently has mood swings, but is overall an arrogant person. He speaks in a loud, commanding voice, but at times he will ponder how far he can go at times, even questioning if he is worth the respect he demands. The Vurm can be over the top in his narcissism sometimes, to a point where it almost seems like he's acting. This is especially apparent when he lowers his voice at times of genuineness.
Biography[]
Waste World[]
At some point, the Vurm was a worm who got hit in the head with a nuclear warhead, being mutated from it. Growing arrogant from this, he remained in the nuclear caverns as a challenger for Rust and Rocky to take on eventually. However, in Carla51's boss rush mod, he is suddenly moved out to fight Rust and Rocky early. He instantly demands their respect for no rational reason, but when met with no favorable response. they engage with him in a boss fight. He makes use of reinforcements such as radderrats and radbots. He also fogs up the battlefield with toxins that are harmful to the player. The player must strategize to attack the Vurm's tail until the Vurm finally returns from the ground and bluffs that the player wouldn't really "betray" him. Once defeated, he is humbled as he questions whether he really earned the respect he demanded from others.
Vicious Galaxy[]
The Vurm can be found in the NPC detention center along with a few other antagonists. He continues to demand the player's respect, despite claiming to have learnt a lesson previously. He also scolds Lazarus, telling him to bow unlike the other characters in the detention center, while begging to be freed. However, when Lazarus sets Sado free. she devours all the NPCs in their cells with an eldritch mass of darkness, with the Vurm presumably being killed by this.
Trivia[]
- An unused cutscene would've depicted how the Vurm became what he is, but it was found to be redundant and inaccurate due to how it showed the nuclear bomb that mutated him exploding when it hadn't.
