The Watcher is a supporting antagonist in the indie RPG Bug Fables: The Everlasting Sapling, being the main boss of the game's fourth chapter, "Mysterious Lost Sands". It is a mysterious, undead cockroach with the power to control ice and sand that was created as a result of the Roaches' experiments. It protects the ancient Sand Castle, and guards one half of the Ancient Key.
Biography[]
Before the events of the game, some unknown experiments made by the Roaches lead to The Watcher being created.
Team Sankemouth encounter The Watcher after they enter the Sand Castle in order to find the other half of the Ancient Key, the team fighting the undead creature and winning, causing it to drop a Peculiar Stone that can be used later to access Upper Snakemouth, as well as the Leif's Request sidequest. The team also grab the Ancient Key half the Watcher was guarding.
Beastiary logs[]
“ | Of unknown origin, this Roach-shaped creature only knows its purpose is to guard the artifact. Capable of speech and intelligent thought, it is all the more baffling to know it has never been alive. | „ |

“ | What a formidable sorcerer! I can't predict its moves at all. Perhaps because it is not truly alive...Defeating it will be an act of mercy. And my horn shall deliver victory! | „ |
~ Kabbu's thoughts |
“ | Why can't we ever just grab the artifact? There's always gotta be a creepy, giant, or creepy giant monster! We're super close to the Sapling. I'm not gonna let you stop me! | „ |
~ Vi's thoughts |
“ | ...What sad magic. Trapped in here, feeling nothing but anger and contempt. We'll put you to rest, forever this time! | „ |
~ Leif's thoughts |
