~ Theon Stark's description. |
King Theon Stark, also known as the Hungry Wolf, was King in the North and head of House Stark during the Andal invasion. Theon Greyjoy refers to the Hungry Wolf as his namesake.
Appearance[]
Based on his statue in Winterfell's crypt, Theon Stark is thin with long hair and a skinny beard. He earned his nickname because of his gaunt appearance and also because of the constant war the North is going through.
Biography[]
Not much is known of Theon's past but during his reign he defended the North from the invading Andals. During the Battle of the Weeping Water, he allied with House Bolton in defeating Andal warlord Argos Sevenstar. The Hungry Wolf then sailed across the Narrow Sea to the coast of the eastern continent of Andalos while displaying the body of the dead Argos on the mast of his ship as a figurehead. During his invasion of Andalos, Theon Stark sacked a score of Andal villages where he burned them down while at the same time slaughtered its inhabitants. He also captured three tower houses and a fortified sept. The Hungry Wolf then displayed the heads of his victims on spikes on his coastline to warn any future invaders.
Later, he conquered the Three Sisters, a group of three islands south of White Harbor and north of the Mountains of the Moon. Theon Stark also landed an army of Northmen on the Fingers, narrow peninsulas that are northeast of the Vale of Arryn, though it is unknown if it took place in a different time or during the War across the Water. Theon Stark defeated rebels from the Rills and aided the Night's Watch in securing a generational victory against the Wildlings.
When King Harrag Hoare invaded the western coast of the North and conquered the Stony Shore while burning the Wolfswood, his son Ravos the Reaper used Bear Island, the home island of House Mormont, as a base. Ravos was eventually slain by Theon Stark, who successfully expelled the Ironborn from his shores.
