Thomas Rogers is a major antagonist in Agatha Christie's novel And Then There Were None, and he is the story's fourth victim.
In the 2015 BBC miniseries adaptation, he was portrayed by Noah Taylor, who also played Locke in Game of Thrones, Darby Sabini in Peaky Blinders, and Adolf Hitler in Preacher.
Biography[]
Thomas Rogers is one of ten people summoned to Indian Island by Lawrence Wargrave' who have committed murder in a way that the law cannot prove or punish them for. The butler and Mrs. Rogers' husband. One of the first people to come to the island, he is a very hard worker even in his old age. He killed his elderly employer Jennifer Brady with the help of his wife by withholding restorative drugs from her, in order to inherit her money, though they were careful to make it look like simple negligence. He and his wife are the first murderers Wargrave discovers, when he talks to a doctor who once treated Roger's late employer and guessed their crime. When Rogers is outside chopping wood for the fire one morning, Wargrave follows him and kills him with an axe in his skull, corresponding with the 'Ten Little Indians' rhyme, "One chopped himself in half and then there were six."
