Biography[]
2 years prior to the movie's events, Thomas Schindler made his first appearance when 10-year-old computer prodigy, Hiroki Sawada finished his new program, Noah's Ark, which also known to be a DNA Program. As Thomas and a guard went upstairs to Hiroki's room, only to learn that he locked the door as after Hiroki finished the program, went outside and committed suicide. After he saw that Hiroki killed himself, he and the guard sees in the computer that a giant boat (which is represented as Noah's Ark) is sailing away, which frighten him a bit.
2 years later, at the Beika City Hall, it was revealed that Schindler Inc would introduce their newest product; The Cocoon, a virtual reality game where players would chose one of five worlds to compete. Thomas, along with others arrived at the event to see the turn out. Later after the lights when off for the presentation of the Cocoon, Thomas left the party and headed down at the basement in a control room, where Thomas meet Tadaaki Kashimura, a Game Developer as Thomas knows about Hiroki's DNA Program believed he want to see it but Tadaaki revealed he doesn't want to sell it but rather use it to make Thomas pay for what he did to Hiroki two years ago as Hiroki used the program to figure out a secret Thomas kept, which would ruin his IT Empire. He also explains that Hiroki believed that Thomas would kill him if he finished the project that he had Hiroki finish, which resulted in Hiroko to kill himself but since the program escape from the system and to Tadaaki's Hard drive. Thomas then promised to reveal what happened if he get to see the DNA program but it turns out that he wasn't going to do it as not wanting that own up to his mistake, Thomas then killed Tadaaki with a blade as he took out a disc and used it to destroy the program and left back to the party, not knowing that Tadaaki pressed the letters "J", "T" and "R" on the keyboard before he sinks back dead.
As Thomas and the others begin the event, Megure, Kogoro and others tries to get him to stop the game but it was too late as Noah's Ark has taken over the event. During the majority of the film, Thomas and everybody else watched as the children (with Conan, Ai, Ran, Ayumi, Mitsuhiko and Genta) are competing in the game where if all the children in their cocoons losses, than Noah's Ark will release a powerful electrical shock that will kill all of them but if just one of them wins the game, then they will all return back to the real world. Yusaku Kudo revealed that he knew Tadaaki as he was an old college friend of his as he wanted him to not only help him with the game but also investigate the suicide of Hiroki, who is revealed to be Taddaki's son,
Near the climax of the film, Yusaku Kudo expose Thomas as the killer and revealed how he did it. It seems that the blade used to kill Tadaaki was snicked in along with some statues that Thomas brought for the event during a party and replace it was a fake one in order to begin his plan. While Thomas denied that he was the killer, more evidence is shown as Thomas as the killer as before one of the kids handled the blade when it fell off the statue and that the blade, he touched was the fake, even more proof is shown as the fake blade was found with the kid's finger prints and Thomas', As Thomas still refuse to believe he was the killer, Yusaku believe that the Dagger has something to do with Noah's Ark as Thomas explains that it's a heirloom from his family bloodline but Yusaku wondered why did he used the blade until during Conan's battle against Jack the Ripper on the train where Jack (with the DNA Program in him) revealed he wanted his bloodline to continue as Yusaku then expose Thomas as a direct descendent of Jack the Ripper, and believed that if people knew about it, he would be ruined.
Thomas the confessed as he revealed in a flashback when Hiroki was alive, and Thomas showed him his private collection, including the dagger that was once said to belong to Jack the Ripper and Hiroki used his DNA Program to analyze the dagger and found poof that Thomas Schindler (The "Czar" of the IT Industry and CEO of Schindler Inc) is a the direct descendent of London's most notorious killer, which is why he had Hiriko committed suicide and killed Tadaaki, in order to keep his dark secret a secret and save his reputation.
However, Yusaku pointed out that no one would care about him and his bloodline or public opinion, as what he did just proves by killing Tadaaki that he is a killer like his ancestor. Shiratori then approaches Thomas and arrested him for the murder of Tadaaki. Afterwards Thomas was never seen again for the rest of the movie.
