  • "The 1997 novel The Dark Path shows the Second Doctor in one of his first encounters with the Master since leaving Gallifrey. Throughout the story, the Master is only called by the pseudonym "Koschei". In Russian folklore, Koschei (rus.Коще́й or Коще́й Бессме́ртный, "Koschei The Deathless") is a villain who hides his soul in an obscure location under many layers of protection so that he can never die.

Though the Second Doctor does not recognise Koschei by that name in The Dark Path, and the novel even goes so far as to state that the Master has only just begun calling himself Koschei, later stories like Divided Loyalties and The Face of the Enemy reuse the name in ways that suggest it is the true name of the Master. The 2018 short story Lords and Masters casts this theory into doubt, however, as Missy states that her real name contains thirty-two letters."

1.Throughout the story, the Master is only called by the pseudonym "Koschei".

-(The very first source of this name even stated that it is just a pseudonym which referred to Russian folklore. The Master is a Time Lord from a diffrent planet, not russian)

2.The novel even goes so far as to state that the Master has only just begun calling himself Koschei.

-(Means that his real name is not Koschei and he just started using this name)

3.Later stories like Divided Loyalties and The Face of the Enemy reuse the name in ways that suggest it is the true name of the Master.

-("In ways that suggest" is not even directly stated. It is too vague, and it's just theory. This one is the "closest" we got that the Master's real name is Koschei)

4.The 2018 short story Lords and Masters casts this theory into doubt, however, as Missy states that her real name contains thirty-two letters.

-(The new source of the media already casts this theory into doubt)

    Result:

It's never truly confirmed YET that "Koschei" is his real name or not. More importantly, it never been confirmed in the main Doctor Who narrative.

    Stop adding the wrong information.

    • don't feel bad Loolveus, Doctor Who is a very confusing series but most (if not all Time Lords) are very hard to place in terms of "real names" as often the real names of Time Lords (if they ever had one) is lost to.. well.. time.

Master and Doctor in general never have a "true" name, only guesses at best.

    • also Fantastic, you accused him of adding false info - which is rude.. you have no idea he did that deliberately.. he just didn't know.. as I said Doctor Who is a confusing verse so don't assume that someone is adding misinfo on purpose.
