Matilda "Tilly" Jackson, later known as Tilly Pierre, is a major character in Red Dead Redemption II.
Biography[]
A daughter of slaves, Tilly Jackson was kidnapped when she was 12 by the Foreman Brothers. She eventually murdered their leader, Malcolm Foreman, and returned to her mother, only to find her dead. Dutch van der Linde found her and took her in to her gang, treating her like a daughter and teaching her how to read. Tilly befriended Mary-Beth Gaskill and Karen Jones, who also worked as maids for the gang.
After returning to civilization after a failed ferry heist in Blackwater, Tilly accompanied Mary-Beth, Karen, Arthur Morgan and Uncle to the town of Valentine. There, Tilly was spotted by Anthony Foreman, who pinned her to a wall and threatened her until Arthur scared him off.
The Foremans later captured Tilly when the gang relocated to Shady Belle and kept her imprisoned at Radley's House until Arthur and Susan Grimshaw rescued her. Tilly urged Arthur to spare Anthony Foreman so he could warn the rest of his gang not to come after her while Grimshaw urges Arthur to kill him. Arthur makes his decision as Grimshaw and Tilly leave on a wagon.
The gang soon starts to fragment after a failed robbery at Lemoyne National Bank. When the gang relocate to Beaver Hollow, Molly O'Shea confesses to being the rat and is shot by Grimshaw. Tilly supports Grimshaw's decision but Mary-Beth and Karen are horrified by it. Tilly later delivers Arthur a letter from his ex girlfriend Mary Linton. Most of the gang start leaving, including Mary-Beth and Karen, leaving Tilly, Grimshaw and Abigail and Jack Marston as the only non-gunslingers in the camp.
While outside of camp, Abigail is captured by the Pinkerton Detective Agency, but Tilly saves Jack and meets Arthur and the rest of the gang. Only Arthur and Sadie Adler agree to rescue Abigail and Arthur hands Tilly money before telling her to take Jack to Copperhead Landing.
Tilly later marries a lawyer surnamed Pierre and has two children with him. John can reunite with her and she will send him a letter revealing she still keeps in touch with Mary-Beth but lost contact with Karen, who she worries had drunk herself to death.
