~ Tim revealing his true nature to Cherie while trying to kill her. |
Lindsey Tim Weekly, better known as Tim, is the main antagonist of Solar Opposites.
He was initially a resistance leader for The Wall. During the Season 1 finale, after the Duke escapes through a hidden hole to the outside, Tim betrays Cherie, attempting to kill her to stop her from allowing people out of the wall. He successfully takes control of the wall, transforming it into a better society than it was under the rule of the Duke while slowly going insane over time, being driven mad with guilt over what he did to Cherie.
He is voiced by Andy Daly, who also portrayed Principal Dwight and Mayor Brown, as well as voiced Memphis Stormfront and King of Ooo.
Biography[]
Much of Tim's early life is unknown, but it can be assumed he lived a normal, boring life. Eventually, he was shrunk by the alien Yumyulack and placed into The Wall, simply because he had a red shirt. He was then attacked by Taffy Bandits, but was saved by a janitor Yumyulack had previously shrunk to keep the fact that he lobotomized a schoolgirl a secret. After this, Tim joins the resistance against The Duke, however it existed at this time. Later, Tim would rescue another victim of Yumyulack's named Cherie from more Taffy Bandits. The two of them go on to help Pedro, another citizen of the wall, barter for insulin from the Duke, who executes Pedro for causing a riot but obliges to give his father, Enrique the insulin he needs. After attempting to steal a cache of food and supplies the Duke kept hidden away from the citizens of the wall, he, along with Cherie and Enrique are captured by the Duke with a trap, where Enrique is revealed to be a double agent. the Duke throws Cherie down the "Boo-Hoo Hole" to die, and Tim is imprisoned. While in prison, Tim writes a memo detailing his struggle against the Duke, which inspires the citizens of the wall to rise up and join the resistance. Later, he is broken out by Cherie, who is revealed to have survived the Boo-Hoo hole. They begin plans to attack the Duke, and the night before the battle Tim and Cherie engage in intercourse, where he unknowingly impregnates Cherie with a child. During the attack, Tim breaks into the Duke's office, finding him scaling down the side of the Solar Opposites' house through a hole in the wall. Cherie finds Tim, and is ecstatic about the hole, exclaiming that the people of the wall can finally be free. However, Tim announces to the people that the Duke is dead and stabs Cherie with his toothpick cane, claiming that as long as they're small they'll always be in danger outside of the wall. He throws Cherie, who he believes to be dead, out of the hole, before turning on the Duke's intercom and announcing to the people of the wall that Cherie was slain in battle against the Duke. Tim takes control of the wall, but unlike his predecessor he turns it into a utopia. He also decides to pardon the Duke's underlings and recruits them as his own henchmen. Finally, he turns the day of the war into a new annual celebration called "Cherie Day", which he claims would be to celebrate Cherie's "sacrifice".
Tim would later go on to hire Halk, a veteran of the war, to investigate a string of murders. Halk is assisted by Enrique and Sonny to find the murderer, who is revealed to be Ethan, a man who managed to suppress his homicidal thoughts by rock climbing before he was shrunk by Yumyulack. It is revealed that Ethan was hired by Tim to recover supplies from the outside, for which he believed himself untouchable by law. Tim proves this wrong by imprisoning Ethan as well as Enrique and Sonny before encasing them in Magic Shell chocolate, killing them. In order to cover up the incident, Tim persuades Halk to blame the murders on a rogue cricket that had gotten loose inside the wall.
Unknown to Tim, Cherie survived their encounter. After Cherie finds her way back into the wall, she makes her way to Halk, and reveals Tim's lies to him and persuades Halk to help her stop Tim. Cherie and Halk go to confront Tim, but when they arrive they find him in a delusional state. As it turns out, Tim was experiencing lead poisoning that came from a Burger King glass he kept in his chambers. Eventually he dies from the combined lead poisoning and contact lens solution the doctors injected into his lungs. Afterwards, Cherie constructs a funeral pyre for Tim, before taking his burnt corpse and displaying it to the people of the wall as proof that he is dead.
Appearance[]
Tim is a man with no stand-offish qualities other than his red shirt. He has small, beady eyes which are almost always covered by his square-frame glasses. He has messy brown hair. In Season 1, it is average length and kept in a stubble. Over time, he grows to look more deranged, having long, graying hair and a messy beard.
Personality[]
At first glance, Tim appears to be an average guy with no stand-offish traits but has a good heart. At the start of the show he is somewhat socially awkward, but throughout season 1 he becomes an inspirational hero of the wall over time, leading the resistance against the tyrannical Duke. Once he defeats The Duke however, he turns on Cherie after she suggests leading the people out of the wall, believing that if the people of the wall left, they would become prey for owls and nature.
After ruling for a while, Tim becomes more and more mentally unstable. He feels extreme guilt over killing Cherie but still believes it was the right thing to do, even convincing himself that it was her who betrayed him. Nonetheless, he seems to rule better than the Duke ever did. He lies to his subjects often, but rules equally and fairly, and the difference between the wall under the Duke's rule and Tim's is a day/night contrast.
After another year, Tim has become even more deranged due to what is believed to be lead contamination in his water source, but is eventually revealed to be just guilt over killing Cherie. He talks to imaginary victims and is unable to separate reality from fiction, unable to notice Cherie when she reveals herself to him, who he believes is just a dead ghost. While dying, Tim is shown having a dream where he saves the people of the wall and wishes vengeance upon the aliens who kidnapped him. This is evidence that he genuinely cares about his people and their wellbeing.

Trivia[]
- There is an entire episode dedicated to a hallucination that Tim is experiencing during his final moments, due to either lead poisoning or the lense solution in his system. This hallucination involves escaping the Wall and freeing everyone else that had been imprisoned before taking his revenge on the aliens for imprisoning hundreds of people. Two key hints that the whole episode was a hallucination was his exclusion of Cherie's daughter, whom he had no idea existed, and the fact that the dream ends with him flying away with a talking gorilla towards a bright light.
