The Time Waster is a minor antagonist in the Sonic the Comic comic book series. It's a time-consuming monster that came into existence when Year 1930 tried to take Year 1999's place in the time stream, threatening to make time fold on itself.
Appearance[]
Time Waster is a being made of energy. It possesses multiple limbs, two eyes and a mouth, and glows yellow.
Biography[]
Every Hogmanay, the spirit of the year to come enters the time stream to take its place in it. But when it was 1999's time to enter, 1930 decided to take his place, wishing to bring back the "good old days". This anomaly caused the Time Waster to come into existence and go on a rampage throughout the year spirits' dimension. To defeat him, the Ring of Eternity sent two heroes of Mobius, Amy Rose and Tekno the Canary, to assist the spirits. Since the spirits couldn't touch the Time Waster without being erased from the timeline, it was up to Amy and Tekno to fight it, but the monster proved to be invincible. Amy Rose then sought out 1930, preventing him from entering the time stream. When he argued that things were much better in his days, Amy reminded him that they weren't perfect, and that things like medicine and technology had actually improved since his time had passed. Realizing that it was true, 1930 abandoned his plans, causing the Time Waster to disappear and allowing 1999 to take his rightful place in the time stream.

- Time Waster bears resemblance to the Time Eater, the antagonist of Sonic Generations, but ironically predates it by thirteen years.
