Lord Tirek is the main antagonist of the My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic season 4 finale "Twilight's Kingdom."
Role
Tirek will escape from Tartarus and steal unicorns' magic, taking away their cutie marks. Discord will be sent to track him down, and Princess Celestia, Princess Luna, and Princess Cadance will transfer their magic to Princess Twilight in the hopes that it will be enough to defeat him. So far, Tirek has manipulated Discord into helping him destroy the Mane Six.
Personality
Little is known of Tirek's personality so far but he appears to be extremely wicked and power-hungry, befitting his status as a reincarnation of one of G1s darkest antagonists. He is also revealed to be manipulative and has an unquenchable thirst for the alicorn's magic.
Appearance
so far Tirek appears far smaller than he was in Generation 1, only time shall tell if this is a permanent feature or if he will obtain a larger form later in the story (much as Apocalypse did in X-Men: Evolution).

Tirek has manifested the following abilities so far:

Trivia
- Tirek is presumably one of the most powerful antagonists in G4 (much as he was in G1) - some claim he surpasses even Discord in power (a character who is constantly portrayed as near-omnipotent)
- This Tirek manages to be even more serious and evil than his G1 counterpart and even Sombra. 64 Tirek is easily the most evil, powerful and intimidating villain in the franchise.
