The Titan, also known as The Great One, is the overarching antagonist of the 2016 video game Doom.

Despite being a Titan himself, he was created by the dark lords to combat the Doom Slayer for proving himself to be a great threat to the demons.

Biography[]

Past[]

With the Doom Slayer crowned of the Knight Sentinels and a growing threat to the demons, the dark lords decided to make a powerful opponent that would be capable of fighting against the Doom Slayer in hopes to stop his murderous rampage. The dark lords have created an individual titan known simply as "The Titan" who is born with a special ability to gain strength each time a demon dies. Over the years, he would grow and rise up to servitude of the Dark Lord with an intent to one day hunt down the Slayer. At an unidentified age, he soon prepared himself to lead a majority of demons under his command to aid him.

With the Doom Slayer breaching to his position, the Titan meets him where he send the demons in his battalion to fight him where he would join his forces against him. Though the Doom Slayer killed many demons from standing in his way, he was unaware that this would prove to be a great mistake as the Titan's strength increases and proves himself to be a difficult foe for the Slayer to fight against, resulting in a chaotic battle between both of them throughout the area at the Umbra Plains. Despite his struggle with the Titan, the Doom Slayer did not gave up his fight as he was ultimately able to defeat the Titan, killing him as his corpse fell to the Great Steppe and remained intact instead of burning to ash with his remaining forces retreating.

Though the dark lords' plan of using the Titan to defeat the Doom Slayer failed, his corpse would be later used by the demons to create temples in the remnants of his body. Overtime, his tomb would be known as the "Titan's Realm".

Doom (2016)[]

After defeating the Cyberdemon, the Doom Slayer returns to the Titan's Realm where he would see the Titan again as his corpse is seen partly decomposed after years of his death since the battle. Ensuring that he finds the Titan's core, he enters the Titan's corpse as he battles his way through the underground network against hordes of demons who seek to stop him from attempting to find the core. The Slayer manage to kill each one and eventually found the core which is simply a teleporter that serves as a gateway to the Necropolis where the Crucible is held guard by the Hell Guards. The Doom Slayer later uses the core to leave the TItan's Realm and enter the Necropolis where he later encounters and defeated three Hell Guards guarding it and retrieves the Crucible before escaping.

Given how much longer the Titan's corpse remains in the Hellscape, it would be presumed that it will remain in its current position until time's end.

Other Appearances[]
