The Titan Spawns are minor antagonists in the 2018 indie RPG Deltarune.

The offspring and presumed juvenile form of a Titan, they directly parallel human embryos, hence being born by their superior forms.

Appearance

The Titan Spawn mainly take the form of pitch black fetus-like creatures, possessing no discernible features except for a glowing white eye. They can however, seemingly take on other forms, as seen from the spawn summoned by the Sanctuary Titan. Such forms include a snake-like creature, a disembodied mouth, a centipede-like creature and a cyclopian star.

Biography

The Titan Spawns are first encountered in the First Sanctuary's dark maze, where Ralsei notices a shadowy figure emanating red echoes approaching the Delta Warriors. He quickly orders Kris to run and the party sprints to the lights. Fortunately, Gerson turns on the lights for the maze and scares the spawn off. They will reappear in the second dark maze but get chased off once again by Gerson turning on the lights.

After the Knight summons the Sanctuary Titan by opening a second Dark Fountain within the Third Sanctuary, the Delta Warriors encounter more Titan Spawn as they attempt to ascend the Titan's stony shell. These Titan Spawn, like their adult counterpart, cannot be spared, and must be either defeated violently or destroyed via the Banish ACT. Later on, numerous Titan Spawn assist the Titan in its battle against the Delta Warriors, sacrificing themselves to be consumed by it when it's low on health. Later, they disappear after the Titan is slain with Gerson's assistance.

Trivia

• The Titan Spawn are, alongside Pipis, currently the only enemies from the game which can actually be killed via fighting.
  • If you do so, you will get a "slain" counter on the SAVE menu.
