The Titans are tyrannical beings that were birthed from the Element corruption in the video game franchise ARK: Survival Evolved, the King Titan is the main controller of not only them but the entire Element hivemind.

Biography[]

Titans are the biggest and most powerful creatures in the ARK universe. Throughout the planet, there are countless Titans, all controlled through nodes on their bodies created by the King Titan and Element.

Element created the King as a "base of operations" and as a way to further strengthen its hold on the planet, so much so that the Titans indirectly caused the Earth to be tidally locked. The King serves as the main source of their strength, if he falls, the rest of them fall along with the Element Hivemind.

There are 4 named titans, one unnamed, and majority unseen across the planet. Being King, Forest, Ice and Desert. The unnamed titan is one that almost slaughtered Mei Yin Li.

The King also has Element Armor in his Alpha state, however, even if you do slaughter him without the armor, the Reseed Protocol still activates, hence killing him and the other titans untamed.

Death[]

Around 20-30 years after Diana and Mei Yin flee to Arat Prime, The Survivor defeats the King Titan, activating the Reseed Protocol and bringing down the ARKs. The ARKs proceed to purge all sources of raw Element and the King's corpse, including destroying Sanctuary.

The only Titans that presumably survive are the ones you tamed for the fight.

Trivia[]

  • Despite Diana's description of the King Titan having a huge X-shaped scar on its chest after a battle between him and Diana & Mei-Yin's Mega-MEK, this isn't seen in-game.
  • The King Titan was once 300 meters tall, but after Mei-Yin and Diana wounded him, he was weakened to half that size.
  • The Titans can be uploaded into terminals and brought to the ARKs, the Genesis Simulation and Colony Ship.
    • Excluding the King, who must be spawned in and will glitch in certain areas/despawn.
    • This is, as natural, non-canonical that you can. Naturally, Element disintegrates when brought across ARKs, so by logic, a Titan from Earth, once downloaded, would either disintegrate when being downloaded or even being uploaded to a terminal in the first place.
      • Not only that, but the only known location where you can go between Earth and the Genesis Colony Ship is Arat Prime. And yet, this is even more non-canonical due to the fact that Genesis is set AFTER the ARKs return to Earth.
        • However, it is entirely possible that the Element that the Titans are made out of becomes purified to a point where they can travel between ARKs, and by technicality to the Colony Ship if they manage to make it to Arat Prime. An example is with TEK armor and weaponry.
  • The unknown crimes that the Element Hivemind may have committed could include:
    • Breaking & Entering: Element is sentient, so it could have grabbed people and/or killed them in their homes.
    • Illegal Breeding: By technicality, the plants around The Forbidden Zone and in some locations around the wasteland aren't meant to exist, hence they are illegally made through Element.
    • Others
  • Only one of the named Titans can exist at a time.
    • This rule is partially null, due to the fact that if you manage to cryopod a Titan through certain means, whether through mods or through uploading them through the terminal, another CAN exist.
      • Once again, this can't naturally happen in-lore and shouldn't really in-game either.
