The Toad Army are major antagonists in of the Disney Channel animated series Amphibia. As its name suggests, it is the military forces, consisting purely of toads, that serve as the law enforcers in Amphibia. But after one of their leaders, Captain Grime got defeated in Frog Valley, he and Sasha Waybright convinced other toad captains to try to overthrow King Andrias instead and take over the land for themselves.
History[]
They first appeared in "Prison Break" where they are revealed to be very dimwitted and cowardly. Grime tries to get them to do better by insulting them, but it only makes them worse. When giant Herons attack Toad Tower, Sasha and Grime team up to stop them and convince the toad to fight by giving them compliments which boosts their confidence and fighting spirit. In the end, they defeat the Herons and celebrate. Grim then makes Sasha his second in command.
They then appear in "Reunion" where they invite all of Wartwood for a party at Toad Tower. However, its all a trap to capture and execute Hop Pop for inspiring rebellion across frog valley. When the townsfolk try to escape the toads capture them and bring them to the top of the tower. Anne and Sasha both fight each other for the fate of the frogs until the whole tower explodes from the Boomshrooms that Wally planted. In the end the Toad army manages to evacuate the tower and escape into parts unknown.
In "Toadcatcher" it is revealed that the army is disbanded with Braddock and Percy as the only remaining members left. In the end, Grime decides to form a new army to conquer all of Amphibia.
In "Toad to Redemption" it is revealed that the toad army became bandits after Toad Tower was destroyed. They attack Wartwood in an attempt to steal their money, but get defeated. They then head back to Toad Tower after Bog becomes the new captain.
In "Barrel's Warhammer" the whole Toad Army is revealed along with the Toad Lords who rule the North, East, and West towers. Grime and Sasha propose an alliance to overthrow King Andrias which they agree unless they get Barrel's Warhammer. Sasha and Grime manage to get the hammer and the whole Toad Army by their side. Except Braddock and Percy, who leave after Sasha's actions nearly got them killed.
In "True Colors" the Toad Army begins the rebellion and at first they nearly succeed until Anne and her friends manage to defeat them and are later arrested by the royal newt guard of Newtopia. In "Turning Point" some members of the Toad Army are taken prisoner by the Frobots but some manage to avoid capture.
In "Grime's Pupil" Beatrix and her faction of the Toad army join the resistance against King Andrias after Sprig defeats her in battle.
