Daimon Tog is the main antagonist of the Star Trek: The Next Generation episode "Menage a Troi".
He was played by the late Frank Corsentino, who also portrayed Bok in "The Battle".
Biography[]
Tog was the commander of the Ferengi ship Kraytor, who represented his people at a trade conference on Betazed. During a reception aboard the Enterprise, he developed both a lust for Lwaxana Troi and a desire to use her telepathic abilities to help with his business negotiations. He shared his thoughts with his second-in-command, Farek, who was less impressed with Lwaxana but accepted Tog's application of her abilities. Tog approached Lwaxana and offered to buy her services but she made it clear she wasn't for sale. The rejection left Tog even more enamoured with her.
Although his ship apparently left orbit, Tog returned to approach Lwaxana while she was having a picnic with her daughter Deanna and Commander Riker. He presented her with a bouquet of flowers, then ordered the Kraytor to beam them aboard, taking the trio prisoner. He left Riker in a cell and had Lwaxana and Deanna beamed to him (with Farek making sure their clothes were left behind). Lwaxana suggested the two of them spend time together, having Deanna sent back to her cell and Farek dismissed. She then pretended to return Tog's affections and seduced him, including giving him oo-mox, a stimulating of the erogenous zones in the ear. (She would later refer to making love to him out of expediency.) She offered to programme his replicator with a drink she claimed was pleasure-enhancing and Tog nearly gave her his access codes to do so. Farek interrupted him, correctly realising Lwaxana's intent, and threatened to report Tog for the breach of security unless he let him use a mind probe on Lwaxana to learn more about her telepathy.
Riker was able to escape and stop Farek's experiments but Tog quickly took control of the situation again. Lwaxana offered to stay with Tog willingly if he released Riker and Deanna so, when the Enterprise arrived on the scene, Tog beamed the pair back. Captain Picard then hailed Tog and pretended to be an insanely jealous former lover of Lwaxana's, threatening to destroy the Kraytor and everyone on board rather than let her belong to another. Panicked, Tog quickly had Lwaxana beamed back to the Enterprise as well.
